Sawyers Brewing Company is a Brewery, Distillery, and Winery in Montague Michigan. The increasing interest in the brewing industry in Michigan over the last several years inspired the owners to partner together and open a local brewery that would provide distinctive and superior alcoholic beverages to suit their customers’ unique and complex tastes. To benefit from the increased interest for amateur and home brewing, they wanted to educate and empower do-it-yourself customers to make their own high quality fermentables. These tailor-made products will allow us long term participation in their success at developing the best tasting beverages to be found anywhere.

Great ambiance and lively company. Atmosphere and cool factor is off the charts! I was disappointed by the beers however. Both our beers had off flavors and for that reason I would stick only to mixed drinks or wine here.

The atmosphere and great staff here are perfect. So are the drinks! Sawyers brews and distills. The vodka, wine, beer, and yes, coffee are always spot on.
Edit: They are now serving food and it is delish.

Great little brewery on the main street in Montague. The owner is so fun and friendly and was so happy to let us sample multiple beers. There is indoor and outdoor seating as well as a little “market” to buy hot sauces etc. pro tip: get a dogs n suds hot dog and bring it over to Sawyers!

Awesome local brewery that also caters to the home brew crowd. They have kettles, a mill, and other brewing equipment that is intended for home brew use. Although I am not a home brewer myself, this concept is ideal for beer lovers as well. With so many brewers around, there is no room for subpar beer here. This environment also fosters innovation and experimentation. What a great addition to the Whitehall/Montague area!

Amazing beers and delicious food to go with it. Highly recommend the Peanut Butter Bliss beer and the Italian beef they serve at lunch. They have a few games you can play and the staff is very kind and friendly!

We stopped here while in town. It’s a lovely layout and a cozy atmosphere, even with a fireplace….via tv by some chairs.

This place is a great stop. One the people that frequent here are great. They were super open and welcoming. By the second visit, we felt like they were going to be sad we had to return back home and would not be with them anymore. I’m introverted, so the fact that there are people I got to know is amazing and speaks highly of the town, and the atmosphere.

This place had beers my boyfriend enjoyed. But they also had their own wines which is something that I wish they would incorporate where I live. The wine was good, and didn’t have too much of a punch. It was just good wine.

On Sunday, there was musical entertainment, and she brought her own donuts for everyone. That speaks volumes about this town and this place. It was also someone’s birthday and we were invited to celebrate with them. Eventually, the owner came out and sang his own version of Jingle Bells related to his business. It was hysterical and highly entertaining. I loved every single minute of it.

This was a great stop and such a highlight of our trip. Love it!

Dear Patti:Being one of the four sitting at the bar; its sad that you were offended by a simple comment made by one of the kindest person you’d ever meet. You are correct in the description of how the bar is set up. Your mention of 2 additional bar stools would put someone staring at the back of the cash register and the other right underneath the sign that says “order here”. You know, right where you had the luxury of ordering YOUR drinks.IF you would have accepted my offer to join us at the bar when 2 of the patrons left, I’m confident your review would have been much different. The owners are hands on hard working blue collar people. They do their very best with the space and manpower they have available. Wishing you a Great summer! Terry Brady
