I usually judge a Thai place by its Larb. Man o man is this place good. I really enjoyed the Larb, the spring roll and the Tom Kha Chicken. When you say hot or spicy they actually make it spicy. I cant tell you how hard that is to find. The interior isn’t fancy, this is more like a mom and pop with a bigger dining area. Great service and things are made to order.

We’ve dined at Sawasdee multiple times, and it never disappoints. This time, I ordered the Panang curry while my husband had the seafood curry-both were incredible. We went with level 3 spice, and it definitely brought the heat (yes, we were sweating), but the flavors were so rich and well-balanced that it was worth every bite. The curry was creamy, fragrant, and packed with depth, just how it should be.
The seafood was fresh and generously portioned.
Consistently great service and quality- Sawasdee has earned its spot as our go-to Thai restaurant.

The food was delicious! I thought I couldn’t get Thai food this good in San Antonio, but this place did not disappoint. I’m definitely coming back to try all these dishes 10/10

I ordered take out and was very disappointed
Basil fried rice ,Udon Kee Mao the basil fried rice was very bland , lacking in the complex flavors a Thai basil fried rice has . I’d like to add I did order medium heat and there was no heat at all . The udon noodles were ok at best . My favorite item were the spring rolls .

I was blown away by this restaurant. I have tried nearly all of the Thai places in San Antonio at this point I can find on Google maps. Most of them have disappointed me.
Not Sawasdee Thai Cuisine. This place is amazing. The staff was friendly, helpful, and showed so much passion for the food and service. The food, in my opinion, is the most authentic I’ve tried here in SA (take that with a grain of salt, as I have no Thai heritage myself). Not only was it authentic, it was delicious.
I am not exaggerating when I say this place wholeheartedly earns 5 out of 5 stars across the board. I will be returning and telling everyone I know to come try the place. Even if it’s out of the way, please come give it a try.

Sawasdee Thai Restaurant is a true hidden gem with very authentic Thai food and incredible flavor in every dish. The lady owner is extremely attentive and welcoming, making the experience feel personal and warm. They don’t sell wine or beer, but you’re welcome to bring your own, which is a nice bonus. Outstanding food, genuine hospitality, and one of the best Thai spots in the area.

Sawasdee has been in our favorite restaurant rotation for a long time at least 15 years. They have always had a great menu with great lunch options that are generous portions and come with a salad with a great unique dressing that I love. I usually stick to a curry dish but have liked everything I’ve tried. On our most recent trip I tried a special off the white board and was surprised with a three types of curry plate with tempura shrimp. It was very good and way too much food so I was able to have seconds later for dinner!
The family that owns the restaurant has always been kind and accommodating and friendly. If you like Thai food give this place a try and support this small business!

Great food and great restaurant! It’s not loud inside like so many restaurants. You can hear those you’re with. The service is attentive, and never too crowded…and yes the food is delicious.
