People travel to Thailand, at least partially, to eat Thai food. I did. I LOVE Thai food… I’ve been on a quest to try to find authentic tasting Thai food locally…but, no luck ….. it’s all Americanized. The food at Sawadee Thai is unfortunately a classic example of this very phenomenon. Its good, but its not authentic tasting Thai food. I wish local Thai restaurants understood that if you make it authentic, people will love it.

The food is great. I think the customer service is challenging for them because of the language barrier and it appears to be a husband-and-wife team. But it was still a great experience. They sat us at a table right away. We had questions about the menu items and although the language barrier was challenging, we were still able to communicate. I tried the red curry, and my husband tried a noddle soup of some kind. They were both good and they were very attentive to us making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the meal.

Edit/update: Went in for lunch during the week and was extremely disappointed with the experience. While this place was worthy of four stars during my review several years ago, this is sadly no longer the case. The papaya salad had far too much fish sauce and also had a bit of rot on some of the tomatoes (picture included). We also ordered the tom kha soup and the server came out with tom yum, which we didn’t like. Also, prices have risen, and it seems like the quality of food does not match the current price.
Earlier review: Ordered the chicken satay, fresh rolls, avocado fresh rolls, chicken teriyaki dinner, mango sticky rice, and beef pho (not pictured). The chicken satay was most remarkable- I appreciated the authentic char on the exterior, as that is my favorite part of any grilled chicken item. The avocado fresh rolls were a nice vegetarian version of the fresh rolls that come with either chicken or shrimp. The mango sticky rice was tasty, but I would have liked more rice in the mango:rice ratio.

I am a lover of all things Asia, with Korea being 1st and Thai being 2nd on my list of good eats. I came here recently and was very impressed with food. The taste is very authentic and fresh. As a matter of fact, when we walked in, they were hand cutting and preparing veggies. Definitely on my top list of places to eat!!! LOVE IT❤ ❤

We have enjoyed several delicious meals from this great Thai restaurant, and the lunch we just had was no exception. I had the Pad See Eew Noodles with chicken and my friend had Chicken Pad Thai noodles . We also shared a Fresh Spring Roll (with shrimp) appetizer. We were able to ask for a 1 or two level of hotness to be added to our entrees. The food was made fresh and came out very quickly. We were stuffed pretty full and ate our leftovers for dinner that night!

So this is currently my absolute favorite restaurant however, I’m quite disappointed. At first the portions were great. I typically get take out but when I dine in I’m an excellent tipper. Anywho I got takeout and this is what I get. This wasn’t even enough to share when typically I get one dish to share between me and my husband. This take out looks like a portion that was gathered from someone’s mostly eaten plate. Not even enough food for one person to get full on. It was literally a thin layer. I paid 20$ for this keep in mind and I got a literal HANDFUL of this dish. I’m going to give it a try one more time, but if I get a portion like this ever again I’ll stop doing take out. And will stop coming altogether. You will lose many customers not willing to give second chances.

We usually get take out or delivery, but went in for lunch. The food is usually always good, no complaints there. However, the dine in experience was the opposite. We entered and waited for someone to come to the counter. There was only 1 table of 4 seated. Took a few minutes to where we debated leaving (first red flag). Someone finally came out and seated us, provided menus and that was the last time we saw someone. Unfortunately we had to leave without getting any drinks or placing an order. Only 1 person was bringing another table’s dishes one by one with a couple minutes in between. I do not recommend dining in. Might be better to stick with take out.

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE service! We ordered from Door Dash. They sent us the wrong order. Called them and let them know. We had to go pick it up. He didn’t believe we received the wrong order. Brought in the order and would not do anything to make it right. No discount nothing added. I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. First time and last time.
