We went the to Savory Steakhouse for our 49th Anniversary. We could not have picked a better place. Stacey our waitress was fantastic! She was so attentive to us and extremely personable. John the owner even came to our table twice to make sure our dining experience was going well. The food was exceptional. Our steaks were done to perfection, tender, juicy, and had a magnificent charcoal flavor. The only downside was we ordered a gin martini and it cost $10.50 each and we didn’t taste the gin. Other than that it was AWESOME!

The food was a bit bland and the parmesan potato bites were old and dried up HOWEVER the quality of the New York strip that I got was terrific and cooked perfectly. I recommend trying it blackened and/or with the seasoned butter options they offer otherwise it will probably need a little salt. The margarita tasted like straight syrup even after taking it back to the bar and watching the bartender pour in a good shot of tequila so I suggest sticking to regular bar drinks like the whiskey and coke my boyfriend got who thought it was delicious. Overall the service was good and the meat was worth it.

Tried Savory weeks ago and decided that our 3rd time would justify a review.
I have had all of their pasta entrees and the chicken piccata was sooooo good.
The owner is a fun guy to talk to and the bartender can make some good drinks…….

Stopped here with my father on our way through the area on vacation. A rather unassuming place from the outside, I mean this genuinely in a charming way not negatively, it has both the atmosphere of a dive bar and a fine dining restaurant inside. Everyone was very friendly, service was quick and accurate. The food wasn’t cheap, but we paid for two high quality steaks and that’s exactly what I got. The prime rib was juicy and tender, the t-bone was delicious and perfectly medium rare. We were very impressed with this out of the way steakhouse, and would definitely come again if it wasn’t hundreds of miles from home haha. They also were selling some handmade earrings from one of their regular customers and I thought that was sweet to support the community like that.

We met up with old friends the other night and decided on Savory. GREAT choice. It had been years since we had been in the building. They made some very nice upgrades and it was warm and cozy with a great atmosphere for us to talk. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. The manager/owner was a lot of fun too and it added in our fun. Thank you! We will be back.

We came to Savory with two friends after the Wisconsin State Firefighters Memorial Final Alarm. Our bartender and servers were top notch and they looked after us very well. If you like crab cakes, don’t look any further than Savory. They were amazing! My wife had the Philadelphia and it was such a huge portion that she couldn’t finish it at dinner. We’ll be back for sure!

Charging Chicago prices for mediocre food is wild to me. The food was terrible. Chicken picata was sitting in water or chicken broth. Regardless, if you know how to cook properly then you’d know to reduce the broth or water down to make a proper sauce. Even putting it on the menu is a disservice to your business. Just remove it. The steak was sad and flavorless even with the half a tablespoon of butter. The positive reviews are clearly from people who have lost all taste or don’t know how food is suspossed to be. Shame on you for calling this a restaurant. I would have rather spent my money anywhere else or just cooked it myself.

Tired of the same routines I went searching online for a local supper club or steakhouse we have yet to try. Somehow in my previous searches Google has failed to point me in the direction of Savory and Google should be ashamed ! Being from Plover it is only a short drive to this laid back but still excellent casual dining atmosphere. Vicky and John (sorry if the spelling is wrong as I didn’t ask) were absolutely awesome hosts ! Attentive bar tending, waitstaff were clean, courteous and attentive, food was delicious ! Homemade Bloody Mary mix was excellent, I am not big on spicy and this was well balanced. My wife was pleased with her drinks as well. We tried a variety of appetizers. We started with the pickle spears which were most excellent! My wife ordered the stuffed mushrooms and I ordered the Calamari. Both were prepared well and were very tasty ! We moved on to entrees. My wife ordered the Prime Rib and I ordered the Ribeye steak. Prime Rib was absolutely excellent, moist delicious, and cooked to perfection. Ribeye was cooked to perfection as well, moist, and very tender. The only critique we would give would be to sautee the mushrooms and onions a bit longer. But we understand that is personal preference. If that is the only complaint, then you my friend have found yourself a couple of new “regulars”. We will definitely be back and look forward to dining here again ! Thank you for a great experience !
