The food was absolutely amazing—true Southern comfort with a creative, flavorful twist. Every bite tasted like it was made from scratch with love and care. The portions are massive (seriously, come hungry!)—way bigger than we expected, and definitely worth every penny.
We couldn’t resist grabbing the Blueberry Lemon Curd Doughnut Holes for a road snack… but let’s be honest—they didn’t even make it out of the parking lot. Perfectly fluffy, bursting with flavor, and just the right balance of sweet and tart.
The staff was friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere cozy yet lively, and everything came out fresh and hot. It’s the kind of place where you feel like family the moment you walk in.
If you’re anywhere near the area, do yourself a favor and stop by Savory Southern Kitchen. Bring your appetite, because you’re going to want to try everything!
I’ve only been there on a Sunday morning and it’s always very crowded. The restaurant is really small. But the service is Fast and the food comes out quick.

Which is probably because she wanted to save the bigger table for a larger party. So I made
Sure to leave a $10 tip for the inconvenience. But other than that I LOVE THE FOOD
Voted the best breakfast spot in the Cape Fear area and stands up to that reputation.
Farm to Table taken seriously; so seriously that they post a board siting where individual foods are sourced locally. (A chalk board as these things change with availability)
Lovely helpful staff, fast paced and can be loud; one adjusts to this idiosyncratic atmosphere.
The food! Wow. Well done, affordable and delicious. I have had their Family Tradition Benny, hands down the best hollandaise in town, perfectly poached eggs and choice of two locally sourced hams. On another occasion, actually my first time I took a chance and ordered the Crab Cake Sliders ( I say took a chance as I am from Maryland and I don’t order crab cakes in NC) They did not disappoint. Well done Southerns.
