We stopped in here while traveling on a Saturday in January and I had heard about from searching for places for food in Columbia on Instagram.

We got a slice of carrot cake, a cookie, some penne pasta and a container of sauce to go. The staff member who helped us was friendly.

We ate the cake later that day and it was good. For me it was a little too sweet. I know it’s cake but we had a slice of carrot cake from an Italian bakery in Long Island and it wasn’t as sweet and that’s what I was expecting. It was still good. We had the cookie the next day and we liked that. It had a nice crunch and crumble. We had the pasta and sauce for dinner when we got home the following day and really that was my favorite of the things we got. It was fresh and the sauce was flavorful – I don’t remember what it was called but it was lemon and white wine.

I originally wanted to try a sandwich but we had already had lunch and I didn’t want to risk the roll getting soggy.

It’s a small shop but I did see outdoor tables and it was warm enough to sit out there when we went. The location was easy to find and parking was fine. There was a lot across the street and street parking. Prices were good.

Last weekend I saw a list of hidden gems in Columbia on the Facebook page I Heart Columbia (Mule Town) Tennessee and we decided that the first one we would check out was Savarino’s Market this past Saturday. This is truly a hidden gem and I am so glad we found it. I felt like I had been transported back to New York and was in Little Italy. We bought sandwiches for lunch and family size Stuffed Shells for dinner. The sandwiches were so good and filling that the Stuffed Shells became Sunday dinner. Truly incredible food. I sent pictures to my daughter and I was told not that I would be buying the Tiramisu cake for her return when she visits in July. This may have been the first trip but it won’t be the last.

My wife and I got the Rigatoni with pink sauce and the Penne with marinarra along with meatballs. Not only did we get a phone call ahead of time asking if we wanted it made hot or cold, it was done by the time of pick up. All of it was a very delicious meal! Would give a 100 star review if we could. Will recommend for anyone who wants amazing and delicious food!

Savarino’s is a Columbia treasure! Authentic cozy market feel and terrific food. It is a tight space inside and food is made fresh but it is worth it!

Everything here is amazing – I usually get the caprese sandwich but they also have an awesome assortment of prepared dinners, fresh homemade pasta to take home which have been delicious. Eggplant rollatini and chicken francese are my personal faves but honestly you can’t go wrong with anything. This is also my go to bakery when I need to bring dessert to a gathering – their Italian cookies fresh made-to-order cannolis are the best! Prices very reasonable and the staff are very warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!

Ordered a muffuletta which specifically says with out pistachio on the menu, but there was pistachios in my sandwich as pictured below. I am allergic to nuts and threw all of it up at work. Thank god I’m not someone who is deathly allergic to nuts, unlike my sister where as this would’ve possibly killed her if she ate it. Service was great but can’t say the same about the food.

I’d recommend the sandwiches! So delicious. My husband loves this place. He brought home a bunch of sweet treats and pre-made food. He is a loyal customer over a year for sure! I enjoy Palermo sandwich and sfogliatella the most. Coconut macaroon is pretty good too!

This was our first visit to Savarino’s
Market. We had the Meatball Sandwich, croissant, and a cannoli. The taste and quality were great. It can get busy. We had a wait but it was worth it.
