Going North from San Francisco we are in Sausalito, the first town right after the Golden Gate Bridge The Seahorse is located at the North End next to the Sea Port and the House Boat and Artist community . We are open every day serving local Seafood prepared following costal recipe from Tuscany, Homemade Pastas and pizzas are served in our large Salon, front Patio or in our Beer Garden. Free parking and WI FI. E- Bicycle rental available to our patrons. Live music on the weekends and complementary Salsa Dance Class every Sunday $ pm!

A very good place where you can dance to live Latin American music until 9 pm, and then for another hour the DJ entertains the most desperate and tireless dancers. Everyone dances – no one is left without attention. Even those who do not know how to dance dance. This is important. The cuisine is so-so – you can have a snack, drink. A cheerful elegant waiter. I recommend.

What a gem of a place in lovely Sausalito, just off the Clipper Yatch Harbor!
They have two outdoor patios for those who want to soak up the vitamin D while they sip on their vino, primarily vinters from Italian or California wineries are on their list. Which do not disappoint.
I enjoyed a bit of nosh from the short, but not disappointing happy hour menu (as of 9/25/25, only available at the bar or dining room). A glass of Montepulciano, Roccio Forte, boh were what I didn’t know I needed on a lovely afternoon.
The staff while attentive is not overpowering. They also keep on the music which is appreciated. In addition, on Sundays they offer dancing lessons. Makes me wish I were living closer. Come here, make your way up a bit further folks from all the shops and busy restaurants to some authentic Italian with local sourced seafood, I hope you will be as pleased as I.

I’m shocked by how bad the food was. It was barely even food. It looked like it was random stuff whipped together by a 5 year old. Given the high prices too, it’s inexcusably bad. I don’t even know where to begin. The fries were unseasoned and completely soft, their bread is unbelievably flat and flavorless. Their vegetables are barely even cooked. The quantity and quality of food is frankly disappointing, and their speed of service even on a slow day was pathetic. Just skip this sad excuse of a restaurant, it’s not even worth trying.

Mothers day. Meal for mom was… forgotten? Came 15 mins after the 3 other meals. No apology, nothing. And the fish that was delivered tasted “off,” had to be sent back. Salmon pasta was “nice,” very salty. Pictured: $28 for 6 medium shrimp served with *COLD* vegetables. Some lady in a red coat sat by the door jarring random guests by yelling at them about the bathroom doors. Waiter only came back once every 20-30 mins if there was a dish to deliver. What a strange experience. Do not listen to the reviews. STAY IN LINE FOR FISH!!!!! Our appetizer (a lump of salty bread) took half an hour, another 40 mins for the meals that forgot the main meal that was for me (the mom, on mother’s day), and then I had to wander the restaurant to get the server to return the late inedible fish.

Great vibes here. A great spot to enjoy food and relax. Large space and seating area. We enjoy the live music while having weekend lunch here. Food quality is good as well as the service. I love the Sea Horse Salad. It has variety of seafood mix with it.

Terrible Experience — Avoid This Place at all cost!
I recently went to Seahorse in Sausalito after dinner for their salsa night (5–9 pm), expecting a fun night out. Instead, it turned into one of the most uncomfortable and disrespectful experiences I’ve had at a restaurant/bar.
We were seated without being told that we had to order food in order to keep the table. When we asked if we could instead order bottles of wine or drinks, we were flat-out refused. Fine — we relocated to the bar to avoid any issues.
But it somehow got worse.
Once at the bar, the waitress was extremely rude and demanded that we pay our tab immediately, with no explanation and an incredibly condescending attitude. When we tried to clarify the situation, she brought over the “owner,” who was even more aggressive and unprofessional. He wouldn’t let me speak at all and actually yelled, “Continue yapping and you will get kicked out,” in front of everyone. It was humiliating.
This was clearly a misunderstanding that could have been resolved calmly, but instead of de-escalating, he chose to yell, embarrass me publicly, and make the situation hostile. To top it off, my personal belongings were thrown away while I wasn’t looking.
Completely unacceptable behavior from both staff and management. If you value basic respect and professionalism, run away from this place. I will never return.
