Best South Indian fare I’ve tried in the Midwest!

The food tastes heavenly, and the service is impeccable. We tried the Rameswaram Dosa, Upma Pesarattu, stuffed mirchi bajji and Mango Kesari. We paired this up with filter coffee, which was a great decision. Every dish was made to perfection. You will find that this place also serves a lot of good South Indian dishes you won’t find anywhere else. The service is quick too.

If you are vegetarian, this place is a must. And if you aren’t, come try this and take my word that you will love it.

The dosas are soft and crispy (ifykyk), chutneys are mouth watering and the Sambhar is the best I have tried in the states. I wish I could keep eating this food, but unfortunately there are physical limitations to how much one can eat. I loved the food so much that I forgot to take a picture and pounced upon the dosa. All in all, will definitely visit again and try more of their dishes.

Definitely recommend!

I’ve been searching for a long time for an Indian restaurant that serves pani puri and South Indian food, which are quite hard to find. Most Indian restaurants mainly offer curries, fried items, or tandoori dishes, so I was excited to finally try this place after looking in many states.

They offer a weekend buffet, including a Saturday brunch from around 10:30 AM to noon. It’s different from a typical buffet—you’re served a large plate with everything on it, and staff come around to refill curries and rice for you.

I didn’t try the buffet since I came specifically to try a couple of items that are hard to find. I ordered dosa, which I really enjoyed. There are many options, and I chose the potato filling.

The pani puri wasn’t quite to my taste. I’ve had better elsewhere—the flavored sauce was a bit too sour and not very well balanced for my taste.

The restaurant is completely vegetarian, and they provide one free bottle of drinking water. Overall, it’s a good spot if you’re looking for South Indian dishes or items that aren’t commonly available.

They are the absolute best in Indy. On our first visit , we had sambar rice and pani puri. Someone who has tried almost all Indian restaurants in Indy, I can say this one is the best , fresh food, great service and happy tummy. Go on a Saturday or Sunday to experience their Kalyanam thali (my fav), unlimited buffet which is service on a tradition leaf plate. So so good, omg I cried happy tears. I will for sure go once a week. Just one request to the restaurant , no matter what never compromise with the quality and taste.

The malai kofta was simply tasteless withe kofta being tough and chewy. The paprika chaat was ok. The Haan could have been the saving grace but it was cold. The mischievous pagoda was garnished with raw onion , which probably was cut awhile back. Masala tea was jus overpowering with sweetness n spices.I will go back to try the south indian food. The restrooms were clean.and enough seating available.

We absolutely love Sathvik Bhavan- hands down our favorite Indian restaurant in the Indy area. Part of it might have to do with the fact that we have some implicit bias as South Indians but the taste, the customization and the quality are unbeatable. When you ask for your dish to be spicy, they don’t just add dry spices like other places- they integrate it into the dish and make it rich with flavor. We have yet to find a dish we are disappointed with here! Ambience can definitely improve, it gives more of a “take out” vibe than a sit down place. Dishes that stood out for us: Jackfruit pulao, dosas, punugulu and mirchi bajji!

This is my new favorite restaurant! The service was excellent and the food was even better! They served the thali all you can eat bringing you more of whatever you requested. The dosa, samosa chat, and pani puri were incredible! I will be back for the unlimited chaat on Wednesday consider me a new regular.

We visited Satvik Bhavan for their Weekend Unlimited Breakfast. We initially thought it would be a buffet like other Indian restaurants in Indy, but to our surprise, it was actually an Unlimited Breakfast Thali. Given that the place is quite small, serving Thali instead of a buffet made perfect sense.

Every item we tried was excellent — delicious, authentic, and had that homemade touch. I especially liked that they offered Millet Dosa, a healthier alternative to the regular one.

At $19.99 per person, the price is slightly on the higher side compared to other Indian breakfast buffets in the area, but the quality and taste of the food truly made it worth it. If you’re craving an authentic South Indian breakfast experience, Satvik Bhavan is definitely the place to go — you won’t be disappointed!

If you’re a fan of vegetarian meals, this place is a must-try! Sathvik’s Bhavan offers an unlimited lunch over the weekend that’s absolutely delicious—fresh, hot food served on a leaf, just like in India. You definitely would not want to miss it. On top of that, their snacks and dry powder options, paired with a variety of pickles, are fantastic. Great food and excellent service—definitely worth a visit!

The staff were extremely polite, attentive, and welcoming, which made the overall dining experience even better. You genuinely feel taken care of here.
