I stumbled into Satsuma Sushi around 8 p.m. after a long day on the road. I’d just gotten a haircut next door at Atmos and happened to notice this little sushi bar tucked into the strip mall. No big sign out front, just a small “reservations only” note in the window. I was about to leave, thinking I’d missed my shot, when a couple walked out grinning ear to ear. I asked them how it was and they said it was some of the best sushi they’d ever had. That was enough for me.
I walked in, no reservation, but there was only one other table. The sushi chef welcomed me, was super friendly, and took great care of me. I ended up housing over $100 worth of sashimi, every single piece was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. This place knows what it’s doing.
A few heads-up: call ahead if you can, and don’t be surprised if the staff seems a little busy or direct. They’re running a tight ship and doing the best they can with limited help. Honestly, I respect the hustle. Times are tough but the quality here is on point.
I’ll be back 100% next time I’m in Rancho. If you love sushi, this is the spot.

Great place to have authentic and yummy sushi! Delicious sushi rolls and oysters!!! Made to order all sushi rolls filled with sushi!!! A MUST TRY!!! You will not regret it! Great service! Ask for Jacob on Fridays or Saturdays. Great service and attention provided! It was our first time & we will definitely be returning! FYI: Make sure that you make reservations!!!
