Satsuma is a really cute and cozy cafe, it’s smothered in art and charm, has a great (pet friendly) outdoor patio for those nice sunny days, and has a ton of fresh warm and delicious food options. The people there are incredibly sweet and it’s always a joy to go.

The staff is awesome. As an out-of-towner, were friendly and patient with me, and I saw them show the same grace to everyone. I had the beet lemonade. It was delicious and a good price. Inside there’s a friendly welcoming atmosphere. This is the type of place where you could strike up a conversation with the people at the table next to you.

One of my favorite coffee shops in the city! Amazing service and delicious coffee. I love the outdoor area under the trees. Such a peaceful environment. I had the bagel with lox and it was very good. It’s also in a great part of town with a lot of cool shops around. Perfect if you want to get your coffee and wander around!

As a meat-loving man with a massive appetite (who has been scorned by countless similar sandwich places), I was very concerned walking into this hipster-friendly joint that the portions would be small and very little meat… but I was blown away by the meat-generous and massive portions! Also wonderful service and music!!

(Girlfriend also loved the Matcha lemonade)

We visited Satsuma Café in the Bywater on a friend’s recommendation, and what a hidden gem it is! Tucked away in a quiet corner, this café offers both delicious food and a peaceful, cozy vibe.

I have a nut allergy and was relieved to find the staff incredibly accommodating. They took extra care to make sure my meal was prepared safely and without cross-contamination. My son had his eye on the green eggs and ham, but it came with a basil pesto made with pine nuts—so we flagged that early and they were very careful from there on out. I ended up ordering the burrito—the salsa that comes with it ties everything together beautifully!

My family also enjoyed a pancake and a croissant egg and cheese sandwich, both of which were big hits.

We sat outside in the courtyard, which was quiet and quaint, with birds hopping between the plants and trees. It felt like a little oasis in the city.

If you’re looking for a relaxing spot with great food and staff who truly care, Satsuma is a must-visit in New Orleans.

We had the best experience at this place. Honestly, the breakfast burrito was the best I’ve ever had. The combination of beans with scrambled tofu and a lot of fresh vegetables made it so good. The staff was very friendly, and the place was quiet and welcoming. We loved it!

While there was delivery through food apps just last month, Satsuma is not able to do food delivery for some reason. Whoever the man is that answered my call 2 weeks ago, is not someone I would hire or want touching my food. It’s unfortunate that people bring their misery into service business. The rest of staff is excellent.

I used to frequent Satsuma when I lived in Bywater years ago. I loved the food and vibe there. I was happy to return since moving back and ordered the Breakfast Burrito for delivery and than dined in with my dog within 2 days because I was craving that burrito and the salsa it comes with.
The staff here is so kind and go beyond what I expected. Peter is jovial and treated us like a house guest who needs for nothing. The man washing dishes in back was singing with the music so well, the soul was felt. That’s great vibes I want around my food !
I have got the green juice twice also and got that to go because I couldn’t Not, try the lavender coffee. Also got warmed blueberry muffin with butter. It’s was a real blueberry muffin as in, it tasted like it was homemade with whole ingredients.
Of course it was so delightful. My dog was given a treat the first last week also. Sweet.
They still have books on a shelf here and the places is so spacious and comfortable to stay around. With outdoor seating for pets, I appreciate havens like this.
Always will return here.

A must stop if you’re in the area. My husband and I really enjoyed coming here (5×) on our stay in NOLA. We are coming back soon and we will for certain be back here. Plus the area is so cute. If you’re not far, I recommend to walk there (weather permitted). Take in the area as well as all the kitties that make themselves at home wherever.
We highly recommend this place.

My husband and I both have Celiac and we’re vegetarians. We visited here on our trip to New Orleans for brunch. This is a small and charming cafe-style joint with a nice patio. It’s not a dedicated kitchen but the staff happily prepared us an egg sandwich on housemade GF bread as well as an eggs & black beans breakfast with housemade tortillas. They cleaned off surfaces to prepare our meals. My husband and I are both very sensitive and felt fine after this meal. Amazing coffee here, too.

The vibe and atmosphere here is awesome! It is tucked in and hard to see from the street but super inviting as soon as you walk in. The employees here are super friendly and very helpful. With indoor and outdoor seating, lots of places to enjoy this cafe!

I had the iced house chai and it is delicious! “A little spicier than mainstream coffee shops” -employee. But totally worth it!
