We were spending the night in Chatham and decided to stop in to try the original Hawaiian pizza. The history was cool and the service was friendly, but the pizza itself was only decent. I’d recommend stopping by if you enjoy visiting historic food sites, but don’t expect it to be an elite pizzeria.

Was in Chatham yesterday and decided on a late lunch early supper. A good friend of mine once told me of the Satellite so I decided to stop in. Parking available right out front on street. As soon as I walked in I was warmly greeted. Ordered a chicken soup and Hawaiian pizza. Both were excellent. Second only to the amazing service I received. I enjoyed my experience so much that I will make this a destination for dining after a nice drive through the county. Kudos to the Satellite restaurant team.

Home of the Hawaiian!
We ended up in Chatham and saw the sign, at first we thought it was a bold claim to say they invented it, and sure enough Google verified that.
The staff were really friendly and personable, the decor was nice, and the restaurant was clean. Food was delivered promptly, and hot soft drinks were topped up without even asking thanks to our attentive server.
The Hawaiian pizza was delicious, we ordered a medium and my lactose free friend has one slice to try it, and I ate the rest and I didn’t feel like I had eaten a brick.
If I’m in town again, I’ll definitely stop by here

I had such a great response from the owner I have adjusted my review to reflect that and confident that the service situation has been dealt with. The food at the Elephants Nest (their bar side restaurant) was awesome, so since it comes out of the same kitchen I’m confident in reviewing the food as well, which was excellent.
Thank you again to the owner for a prompt response and for caring so much. It was very much appreciated.

We were excited to try this restaurant for the first time tonight (Oct 9 approx 5pm). We had checked out the menu and it looked great. When we arrived we were directed to find a seat. We sat at a booth, by the door and waited. And waited. And waited. No one came with menus, no one came to let us know someone would be right with us. We were the only table that we could see up front. I did notice servers chatting and milling around. Another couple came in. They sat themselves, got menus and their drink order taken. Then another table came in. Same thing, menus and a drinks. We had sat there for about 12-15 minutes. So we got up and left. We actually went next door to the elephants nest and were excited to see the same menu…so obviously same owners. We sat, the bar tender came over immediately with menus, took our drink order, and returned promptly to take our food order. The bar tender will be pleased with her tip, because we take tipping seriously and appreciate good service.
If it has been busy, and staff was running around doing their best and we had to wait I would have been fine with that, understanding and patient. But it wasn’t busy and you could hear them chatting about non work related things.
So, just the servers will be the ones who miss out and not the owners, but hopefully the owners will read this have a discussion with their staff.

Overall, a decent restaurant, depending on what you order. The burgers are good and the roast beef dinners. Along with the fish. They are known for pizza, but i’ve never had it. Personally, I’d stay clear of the steak and pasta. The service is always good in the restaurant is always clean.

I came down here with my sister because I’ve been wanting to have a Hawaiian Pizza from the place that invented them. I gotta say I was very impressed! The service was prompt. The interior was clean, especially for an establishment that’s been around as long as Satellite has. Best of all, the food was amazing! That was quite possibly the best Hawaiian Pizza I’ve ever had! Big chunks of pineapple, generous amount of ham slices, a uniquely sweet and tasty sauce, and perfectly stretchy cheese! All of that on a perfectly crispy crust! My sister had a turkey and mashed potatoes dinner and she really enjoyed it as well.
I can say this was absolutely worth the two hour drive to experience a taste of pizza history!

Disappointed!! Service slow, egg stuck on the bottom of washed plates. Ordered XL Satellite Supreme Pizza which was under cooked. Charged $4.25 for a kids orange juice even though they ordered thier own separate pizza. Inconsistent!

We were there October 24th . Your waitress was great but the food was terrible. I got the smothered chicken. The chicken was overcooked and barely warm, the mashed potatoes were cold and crumbly and my corn was cold. I asked the waitresses to please have my meal remade. The plate that was brought back had the same chicken on it which has now been microwaved and now even tougher than before. I did receive a fresh scoop of potatoes and corn. The menu said my meal was $20 and change but my receipt said $23. My previous visit was not great either i got fish and the fish was not fully cooked and my husband got a panzerotti which was still doughy. Which we actually brought home and baked to cook it thoroughly. We will not be back after this experience
