The steak’s quality and flavor are truly unmatched for a steak & eggs breakfast, that alone brought us back. The traditional breakfast and avocado toast were just as impressive, made with super fresh, high-quality ingredients. The service was also a 10/10.
Also amazing: meatballs (appetizer), the filet and mashed potatoes, and the chopped salad. Great vibes and service was also good. Highly recommend!
Unfortunately, things have changed. I’m not sure if management shifted, but the service has noticeably declined. On one visit, we weren’t greeted by our waitress for more than 30 minutes, the entrees arrived cold, and several items had to be reminded multiple times before they came out. I returned on a later date hoping for improvement — especially since the dining room was almost empty and only one other table was present — but the experience was almost identical. That same waitress would stop by and then disappear for 20 minutes at a time, making it impossible to properly course our meal or enjoy the flow of appetizers, salads, beverages, and entrées.
What makes this so disappointing is that the potential is still there. The food can be excellent, and I genuinely used to love this place. However, the inconsistency in service is now so extreme that I don’t feel comfortable bringing friends or family here anymore because I never know if we’re going to have a great night or a frustrating one.
I really hope Sasetta invests in training and urgency for their waitstaff, because this restaurant used to be something special. It would be wonderful to see it return to that level again.
The food was very good. We ordered meatballs and focaccia to start and then ordered pasta for entrees. We were planning on ordering dessert as well, but nixed that plan after dinner.
The appetizers came out as ordered but when the entrees arrived, one of them was wrong. The waitress even confirmed the order prior to walking away. She gave a half hearted apology that she had entered the wrong dish, fine. We asked for a small plate so that we could share some of our food with the person whose food was incorrect and the waitress seemed partly offended. She stated that she would tell Chef something. I think it was something to the effect that we did not want the entree, but I told her no, that we still wanted the entree and that we would just be taking it to go. I was surprised when the entree came out to the table on a plate, as I expected it to be packed up to go. We asked for it to be packed up and asked for a dessert menu. She had a larger party come in and in the meantime we decided to not have dessert there. I got up to see if I could just meet her for the bill, so that we could make our way out of there. Not only did she not take off the additional entree that she added to our bill, but also billed us for some random coffees that we never ordered.
These are all minor things but really colored the experience. I have dined at the Joule (in the past Americano and CBD Provisions) and stayed at the Joule and have always had great experiences. This may have been a one off, but the experience was really poor.
