A Perfect Last Night in Cancun – Family-Friendly & Absolutely Delicious!
We ended our Cancun vacation with dinner at Sasi Thai at the JW Marriott, and it was the best decision we could’ve made. Dining on the water with the sound of waves in the background made for a peaceful and unforgettable evening. The decor is stunning—thoughtfully detailed and even more magical as the night set in and the lanterns began to glow.
Our kids were reaching their limit with Mexican food (as much as we love it!), so we were thrilled to discover Sasi was offering a sushi special. My sushi-loving son begged us to go, and I’m so glad we said yes. He devoured the sushi sampler and then surprised us all by trying—and loving—every bite of the Thai dishes. He even ate four California rolls (thank you, buy one get one free!)—and this from a kid who had never tried Thai food before.
Our fried rice and chicken Pad Thai were fantastic—flavorful, fresh, and perfect for sharing. The mojitos and wine rounded out the meal beautifully.
What truly made the night special was our server, Ximena. She was so kind and attentive, especially with our kids. Her care, thoughtfulness, and warm hospitality made us feel completely taken care of.
If you’re in Cancun—go to Sasi Thai! And if you’re staying at the JW Marriott, don’t miss this gem right on site. It was a memorable, delicious, and family-friendly highlight of our trip. I almost forgot to mention the great saxophone player! Live music made it a perfect night.

Good food with Live Music by the beach!
We came to this restaurant couple of years ago and really liked it. We made a trip just to go eat there again even tho we weren’t staying at that hotel. The restaurant used to be in the Marriott, now it moved to the JW Marriott. I personally liked the ambiance of the old location better. The food was good, it used to be better and more presentable. One of the plates we tried was the Satay assortment, and the chicken satay was the best, I would recommend!

Awesome Authentic Thai place. Great DJ music! Huge bar! Great food & drinks! Just loved the combination satay skewers (10 qty) & BBQ on top of the table just sizzling away…the beef & pork fried rice, and Pad Thai Tofu. Had 2 perfect cucumber ginger lime Hendricks martinis!! Really nice breeze from the bay side & ocean being under the fans with the sides completely open. One of our favorite restaurants all week…my family loved this place!!

Ordered the sake maki, California roll, crab fried rice, various steamed and fried shrimp, chicken, vegetable, and pork dumplings, and the mango crème brûlée. There was nothing to complain about. The portions were good, not the biggest but not the smallest. The crab fried rice is excellent with crab incorporated throughout the dish. Each dumpling and fried spring roll was quite delicious. The sushi rolls were fine too. The crème brûlée was excellent with delightfully fresh passionfruit sorbet. Do note that if you’re coming here, you should do so in the evening or at night as the restaurant has no indoor seating to escape the heat. You have a beautiful view of the ocean and there was a live musician. Overall, I’m glad we concluded our last night of vacation with this spot, it was absolutely perfect eating next to the ocean. The “bus boys” stole the show for service tonight. Exceptional service all around.

What a great place! From the moment you enter this restaurant the staff makes you feel special. Our waitress Brenda was amazingly friendly and efficient. We ordered an array of chicken, pork and shrimp satay. Delicious! Then we shared a chicken and shrimp pad thai which was super tasty. The chef, Gabriel, came out to ask us how we liked the meal! Did I mention the great sunset view! Definitely come here when visiting Cancun.

Amazing experience having Thai food in Cancun. The restaurant is part of the Marriott Cancun resort and sits right outside the entrance. The staff was very kind, especially David, the manager.
The menu is extensive and prices are very reasonable. Loved the papaya salad and the chef’s veggie selection but not the pad Thai. No reservation was needed and getting there at sunset was perfect to catch the last rays of the day and the night’s entertainment,
A sax player serenading us to classics from Careless Whisper to Mama Mia.

Looking for gluten free menu offerings was difficult but I contacted Marriott Cancun via email and got an immediate response of what they offer and she wanted to know when we were coming so she could inform manager and chef at the restaurant! The place itself is beatiful, like you are in a outdoor village. Staff was amazing and attentive. There was a lady singing and playing the flute the Friday night we went. We ordered the Sasi Sampler for an appetizer and gluten free chicken satay. For our entrees, even though there were four of us, we only ordered 2 dishes which were both gluten free – combination fried rice and red curry chicken. Portions were huge and we still couldn’t finish it all! The rice was loaded with chicken, beef, pork and shrimp. Fantastic food!
