Sarris Candies is a family-owned business that started when Frank Sarris want to impress his future wife, Athena with a box of chocolates. He began making small batches of chocolate for friends and family in the basement of their Canonsburg, PA home. By 1963, he had opened a candy shop next to his home, and in 1979, he opened an old-fashioned ice cream parlor.
Today, Sarris Candies is a major business employing over 350 people, and their factory, ice cream parlor and storefront cover an area the size of a full city block.
Frank Sarris passed away in 2010, but his legacy lives on through his family, who is committed to continuing the legacy of Frank and his dedication to high-quality product and exceptional customer service.

Sarris’ Candies has the best chocolate in the world. I have loved this place since I was a small child. The ice cream is literally delectable. The portions are gigantic and delicious. Try the Odd Couple. It is one large scoop of vanilla ice cream with fudge sauce and one scoop of chocolate ice cream with marshmallow. It is perfection. Sometimes I like to sub out the hard cap for the fudge. Either way, this place is an experience. It looks like an old-fashioned ice cream shop and literally makes you think you’ve stepped into Candyland. If you’re passing through Canonsburg, it’s definitely worth a stop.

Amazing place to shop and visit. The dark chocolate is delicious. Got a pound of assorted dark chocolate and a dark pretzel bucket. Total for the two was about $90. Got a dark chocolate and almond bar too for about $3.

Always worth the drive and long line for ice cream. Hard cap sundaes never disappoint. Staff is friendly. Indoor seating is limited but there is plenty of outdoor seating. I don’t patronize the candy store but has some cute selections.

This was a delightful candy store, with a nice variety and also wonderful decorations/art/etc. This was nice as an adult, and I can only imagine how magical it is for kids. I had an ice cream sundae (the Odd Couple) in their ice cream parlor and it was great!

I have to say that first time in Sarris Chocolate Candy Shoppe in Canonsburg PA is a tad overwhelming! BUT you will definitely be glad you stopped!
