I have loved this place for years! Delicious lunch every time. The fried snapper is phenomenal. I like to have veggie only meals too. The macaroni and cheese is some of the best in town. This is not a hipster, vegan, gluten free, craft beer place. Sarris is all about quality and consistency and damn good food.

Cafeteria style. Iwas told that all veggies are cooked without the addition of meat (chicken stock, bacon, ham hogs, ..) I am a vegetarian for so long that I might have forgotten what meat tastes like but I surely didn’t taste anything that I thought was meat-based.
I got
Fried okra: thickly breaded and crisp
Fried green beans; even thicker coated and tasty (,in particular with hot sauce)
Turnip greens: very tasty (can they be that tasty without a ham bone?)
Beans with tomatoes and potatoes. A little salty but right up my alley.
Jalapeno corn muffin.
All in all a bit more food than I needed but I tasty and I didn’t leave a single crumb.
A restaurant serving on styrofoam plates cannot receive 5 stars from me.

Sarris Cafe is a lovely little family owned business. It’s a meat and three with Greek flair!
Sarris is set up cafeteria style; you walk up and order your food. Different specials are run daily. The restaurant owners are tech savvy, and specials are posted every day on Facebook.
The folks who plated our food were incredibly warm and lovely. They gave my dad an extra corn muffin when they saw he got beans and greens. Can’t do that without cornbread!
My mom and I both got vegetable plates. We had squash casserole, Mac and cheese, yams, fried okra, mashed potatoes and gravy, and yeast rolls. I know, I know – we went light on the vegetables.
Their squash casserole is talked up as their specialty, and it was very good. Nice squash and onion flavor. Mac had great cheddar flavor and wasn’t overcooked. Delicious, actually house-made yeast rolls. And the fried okra, heavily breaded, has an awesome crunch! Mashed potatoes were the weak link; I’ve had much better. Yams were the perfect balance of cinnamon and sweetness, but without being overpowering.
My dad got the fried snapper with pinto beans and collards. He liked it all. My mom thought the pintos were too salty, but I just thought they had a nice meaty flavor. Corn muffin was a little dry. The fried snapper was crispy and not fishy at all! Big win there. We all agreed we’d return if we found ourselves in the neighborhood again.

No crowd and easy access but food was not good couldn’t eat it. Had old taste like rewarmed, just not fresh. And the cake was made from box

Overall by far my worst experience at Sarris Cafe to date. The restaurant just was not good in overall food quality and these are photos from the booth we sat in. Staff is trying but the owners need to take time to clean and repaint the entire restaurant. Drink glasses were very dirty, jalapeño muffins were ice cold with cold butter.
Honestly was very surprised after having talked it up to my wife to find this as her 1st impression and experience of Sarris Cafe.

Great food and friendly service. Waitress brought our drinks quickly and checked on us often. The food was home style cooking and the portions were generous.

I really wanted to like this place. The people were very nice and the price was fair. Unfortunately, three out of the four vegetables I got on a vegie plate were so salty that I couldn’t eat them. Please understand that I am not a person that is sensitive to salt. I can’t recall the last time a meal was so salty I had to discard it.

I like the people that work here. It’s priced in the middle for what it is. No complaints there. Every time I have been here the food has been much more salty than I like. That’s a personal preference thing I guess. I have friends that really enjoy the food here so I keep trying. I want to like this place so much. I just don’t. For me it’s so salty that it stings my mouth. If that’s what you are into this is your place. Because I like the people and the atmosphere. I’m tired of peeing all afternoon because I had to chug 4 glasses of water and 3 sprite’s to get through half the meal and then going for a burger at 2 because I couldn’t finish lunch and I’m hungry again.

Cafeteria style which I like and servers are friendly and courteous. Dining area is nice too, but honestly the food isn’t all that great. I had a vegetable plate with cabbage, which was good, fried okra, which was good and crispy, and green beans, which wasn’t tasty to me at all. I was going for a 2.5 rating, but the app would only accept 2 or 3, so the reason I rated it low was because the food was cold in spots. I got there at 1pm since they serve until 2, so maybe the steam table was getting low. Disappointed.
