I used to LOVE this place. Decided to stop for dinner tonight. Boy was that a mistake. I ordered chicken teriyaki, extra chicken, with fried rice. It was $15!!! The chicken portion was laughable. I paid almost 3 extra dollars for the “extra” chicken. The whole portion I received looked less than a normal portion. I got one sad sliver of broccoli in the tiny scoop of vegetables. The fried rice was old and hard. The worker seemed like I was bothering her by placing an order. I could have gone to a sit down Japanese restaurant for what I paid for this. I absolutely recommend you do that instead of wasting your money here. Will not be coming here again. Sad because it used to be great quality food at a great price.

Spent 40$ on two plates and a side of dumplings. I got beef and shrimp my husband got chicken and shrimp. Portion size was ok but the food had no flavor but the taste of burnt grill. I had to put soy sauce and chili crisp from the Tokyo Express next door. The cabbage was dirty looked like I got an old end of a cabbage head. Which I didn’t see until after I had ate a bit. I definitely don’t recommend unless your starving.

I’m leaving a review here even tho this was from Orland Park, IL Mall. This location is now closed and this will be the biggest loss Orland mall will ever see in the food court. Had to give a 5 star review to say they will be truly missed and I hope an independent sarku will pop up somewhere nearby!

The food portions are out of hand. I paid for extra chicken and extra rice and literally got half a bowl. When I told the employee they said you did get extra. It barely even looked like 1 portion. I used to order here and get a full bowl without paying extra. Now I’m lucky if I can get more than 5-6 tiny bits of chicken. They are becoming so cheap AND raising prices it’s ridiculous.

I BEEN TO THIS PLACE A FEW TIMES AND HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. I ALWAYS BUY THE CHICKEN TERIYAKI THE CHICKEN IS TENDER PLENTY OF RICE AND THE SAUCE IS DELICIOUS. YOU CAN ALWAYS REQUEST EXTRA SAUCE ONCE IT IS COOKED. THE SAUCE IS WHAT MAKES THIS MEAL. SOME OF THE CASHIERS ARE MORE FRIENDLIER THAN OTHERS. BUT I JUST ENJOY COMING TO THIS FAST FOOD JOINT IT IS DIFFERENT FROM THE USUAL BURGERS AND CHICKEN PLACES.

We get carry out from Sarku at least once a week and their food is always amazing. They make the BEST teriyaki chicken, everything is fresh and made to order, generous portions and cheap. The guys that work there take a lot of pride in their restaurant, and they have great customer service (a rarity these days). Quick, delicious, cheap and service with a smile every time!

Nice little fast food place in the local mall food court. Your choice of steak, chicken , or shrimp with white rice, fried rice, or udon noodles. Vegetables come with if that’s your style. Most of the employees are very friendly, a couple are just putting in their time. But in the 10 years I’ve been frequenting this location, they have never gotten my order wrong!
