I’ve loved Sarku Japan for years, and their classic Chicken Teriyaki remains unmatched. This location in Teterboro consistently delivers fresh, made-to-order dishes with that signature sizzling grill and bold teriyaki flavor that keeps me coming back.

In celebration of National Chicken Teriyaki Day on December 11, Sarku is highlighting everything that makes their food so iconic the freshness, the flavor, and the consistency.

They’re also offering an exciting promotion: from December 8–11, guests who order a Chicken Teriyaki entrée, Chicken & Shrimp Teriyaki entrée, or a Chicken Teriyaki Bowl through the Sarku Japan Rewards App will be entered for a chance to win free Chicken Teriyaki for all of 2026. Each order counts as a separate entry, and one winner will be chosen at every one of their 145+ corporate locations.

This Teterboro spot is clean, fast, friendly, and always reliable. If you love Chicken Teriyaki, this is the place to go especially during this promotion!

Their service on Uber Eats sucks. There is no way to select spicy flavor for teriyaki, so I add it under the comments. I called several times just to ensure they follow the instructions and they kept hanging up on me. Finally they answered and said they already completed the order without the spicy flavor. At that point my husband said ok so add hot sauce in the bag. They told him okay we will add in the bag. Order arrives NO HOT SAUCE AT ALL. DO BETTER.

Mall food court food without the madness of fighting mall crowds and looking for parking? Count me in.

Teriyaki chicken is one of my favorite food court options, and this is where my husband and I come whenever the craving hits. Both here and in most food courts, I’ve found that it’s best to stick to the tried and true. Yes, there are other proteins. Yes, they have bento boxes and sushi rolls. Yes, there are other things on the menu. But if you order those, prepare to be disapointed because in my experience, nothing compares to the consistency and the quality of the chicken teriyaki. It’s the highlight item and what the kitchen is regularly cooking and churning out, which – to me – kind of guarantees the freshness and quality.

We’ve made countless visits since we moved to the area, and our meals are always satisfying. I personally love the little bits of char on some of the chicken here (which I’ve noticed other and quieter Sarku locations don’t do – are the grills hotter here?).

For those interested in deals, they have a stamp card for frequent customers so that you can get a free chicken teriyaki entree after six visits. I find this to be extremely reasonably compared to other loyalty rewards that require you to make far more return trips to get anything back. If you don’t mind downloading (yet another) restaurant app, I’ve heard there are more deals and discounts to be had.

We love that there’s plenty of seating, though tables and seats aren’t always as clean as we’d like. This Sarku is located in a complex with tons of restaurants (not to mention a Costco right behind), so the parking lot can get a little busy around mealtimes and weekends but we’ve never struggled to find a spot.

Shrimp bento box was nasty. The shrimp tasted old and mushy. The sushi had old avocado. Overall I wish the food could be better for delivery.

The people there have no manners. The workers there don’t know how to speak to customers, their English is horrible. You cant even get extra soy sauce. They are not making sushi anymore apparently, The few times I went there, I asked, all the guy said is no, just no with an attitude. Not even ‘oh I’m sorry we don’t have any sushi”, just plain no. Learn some type of customer service !
The portions got extremely small, the meat serving om the meal is for a child, they want you to pay extra for a normal serving.
Terrible !
Never going there again.

Price was $7.50 in 2020 for the Teriyaki chicken. Today just 5 years later it is over $10 for the exact same food. Terrible price increase for no reason.
Soda fountain has been out of order since April.

Indoor dining is back! Soda fountain is only half restored with 5 out of 8 spouts functional. Diet coke is missing still.

9 months later…. still cant eat inside. The stupid lockdowns have ended for all of NJ, but they still wont let anyone eat inside. Food is still yummy. Prices and service are still good. Friendly employees and speedy service.

Went here during the stupid lockdowns of 2020.
Good food. Good prices. Short wait times.

Pros:
Yummy teryaki chicken
Yummy rice
Plenty of parking
Free parking
Diet coke available
Outdoor tables and seating

Cons:
Due to stupid lockdowns, no indoor seating
Fountain drinks are not available
Poor drink selection(please add diet rootbeer, diet dr pepper and Joe Tea brand teas)
No umbrellas to protect customers eating outside.
Would be nice to have a sweet sauce chicken available too.

This is a better Sarku Japan I’ve been to compared to the one at Bergen town center. Walked in on a weekday night and got food in 5 mins. Regular portion is a good size of meat.

My only complaint about this place is that the rice and veggies are a bit cold. I think the rice and veggies are prepared a long time ago.

Staff gaslit us multiple times confusing the order. We finally checked that it was correct and we got white rice after paying more for fried rice (each). We brought both meals back up to the counter and staff told us that we did have fried rice… we have eaten at many other Sarku Japan locations and this remains the one with the most problems (hadn’t been here for two years after getting a bone in my chicken ). There are no peas or carrots. It is CLEARLY white rice and they refused to do anything.

Rude girl at the front desk, death scrolling. 11$ sushi roll with brown old avocado, wasabi was sitting out so long it was like gum or powder idk. Better quality sushi at walmart.
Everyone working there looked miserable, very depressing

I ordered a teriyaki shrimp rice bowl, which was completely tasteless. It had neither the original flavor of the food nor any cooked taste whatsoever, which was quite surprising; I can hardly believe they can open a restaurant like this.
