Staff were INCREDULOUSLY rude, not just to me but pretty much everyone else on the line. Arguing with customers that items aren’t served when they’re clearly marked on the menu (eg. à la carte Tempura). Personally, I asked the cashier if he could put the rice for my Teri plate on the side since I’m not eating there and didn’t want the food to get soggy. His response? “We don’t do that. It’s only on the bottom. If you want the rice on the side I have to charge you for extra rice”, even though I’m not asking for anything extra. If this wasn’t Sarku, I’d give it no stars, the staff were THAT rude today. Maybe the guy was just having a bad day. But at any rate, it’s not an excuse for being so incredibly acrid towards your customers, nor for charging extra so arbitrarily. Please get it together.

Sarku Japan always offers good comforting food to my stomach. Teriyaki chicken (or with shrimp) with steam veggie and rice is my to go order. The quality is consistent across all Sarku. It’s another thing I like about Sarku. Great food and flavor.
The service is quick. It makes me even more hungry seeing the sizzling meat on the grill.
This Sarku is in Willowbrook mall food court. Many tables and seats for customers. During meal time it gets crowded. Overall a good choice for quick and affordable food.

The Sarku Japan in the willowbrook mall is the best one in the area. All the others are ok, but this one is always a perfect experience. The same guy makes my Rock & Roll every time and it’s always perfect. The set up on the counter where you can grab napkins, and pour your own soy sauce is always stocked. If you like this place but never experienced the one in the Willowbrook mall, I suggest you come and experience it. If you had sushi from a Sarku Japan and didn’t like it, then I know you were at one not at willowbrook mall.

Sarku has been a staple of food courts for as long as I can remember. To be honest, the sushi is really good! We ordered at the front and they made it fresh on the spot. The chicken teriyaki is also very satisfying if you want a healthier option for lunch, it comes with rice and mixed vegetables.

Tasty food and long standing restaurant in this mall. I thought it used to be Sakura but it’s not. The counter was a bit dirty and in disarray with no napkins. The cashier was nice and understood my order clearly and it came correctly. The teriyaki sauce wasn’t as flavorful as it used to be and not as much rice for the amount of meat I ordered. But all in all it was good. The shrimps could’ve been cooked a little longer though. As well as the cabbage… felt undercooked and plastic-y. The sushi station looked clean too! All in all for mall food it’s tasty and the price is decent. Better than the fried options in the court.

This was my parents favorite place to eat. I got them food from here the other day and my dad got sick and the food was not good. I did see they had new cooks two Spanish guys working the kitchen and I gotta be honest it’s not the same. This is coming from someone who is Spanish. I think they just need to train them better and ensure the quality is the same because it’s not.

The food here is good which explains the usual long lines. But the lines do move quickly.
The chicken teriyaki is great for the price vs portion but I do wish they used white meat instead.
Service is also good. They give you extra teriyaki sauce if you ask.

Located in food court of Willowbrook mall, this Sarku has sushi counter on one side and teriyaki grill on the other side. It’s very popular with shoppers, as I witnessed customers getting in line one after another.
It was fun to watch them grill, the whole grill was covered by chicken, they prepared about 12 boxes at the same time.
The taste of the food was excellent, standard Sarku quality. Chicken was tender, with yummy teriyaki sauce, soft rice and nicely cooked vegetables.

Sarku Japan is national chain of Japanese takeout restaurants, mostly in the northeast. I have over the years been to at least twenty of their locations, and never been disappointed. This Sarku Japan in Willowbrook Mall, Wayne, NJ, is yet another in a long line of this chain to meet my expectations. My favorite dish here is the teriyaki, both beef and chicken, which is not just the meat and sauce, but also a generous portion of rice, both steamed or fried, and topped off with a huge dollop of steamed vegetables, the same that one would find in my favorite non meat choice, the Veggie D’Lite. The portion served is more than one meal for me, so I gladly take it to go, and get a nice little meal the next day. Their sushi rolls are also a treat. Service here is, as in all other Sarkus, top notch and enthusiastic. Even the cooks convey the impression that they love their work. Kudos to all.

The food here is amazing! The double teriyaki chicken with rice and veggies is such a good amount of food for the price, and it tastes really good as well. The staff here aren’t super friendly, but it’s a food court place so that doesn’t really matter. They take your order and make it quickly, so why complain if the food is so good!! Would highly recommend for good, cheaper food in the mall and I will come here often!
