Quick, good selection and tasty Japanese lunch selections! The amount and price was pretty good too for a mall food court choice as well. My daughter was only able to eat about half of her chicken and shrimp with vegetables because the portions were very generous!

So, I’ve been going here for 23 years… I remeber when they used to serve samples of the chicken teriyaki on toothpicks when they first opened..lol
This was always my go-to place when i was shopping in the mall, and was even more thrilled when I moved to Portland being minutes away compared to an hour before!!!
But…unfortunately the past couple years we’ve noticed changes…and we can’t be the only ones….
first, the larger pieces of the chicken teriyaki was all of a sudden chewy (the non-fat parts) and….it uses to be full of nice big pieces..with little to no fat attached at all…
now ….half of the entire order is fat..with only half of our order being edible!! 🙁
im not angry..im more disappointed..sad…
Tonight, i noticed another new change…..
There was barely any flavor at all…and 3 other ppl who ate it as well said the same thing!..that it had a very plain taste…mabye it was just the cook..idk…… 🙁
.but, to the owners of sarku:
My thoughts r a few years ago you started buying from anew, cheaper supplier for your chicken. if you have… GO BACK to your old supplier!!!
Theres no way we r the only ones noticing and that barely order it now…
..after tonight… we dont plan on purchasing it again…we had hoped it was a temporary flaw…but nothing has gotten better in the past 2 years….which sucks… 🙁 we would love to see better quality chicken like it used to be!

I can’t express enough how good the food is and how hardworking the employees are. They are so sweet and work so hard. The food is absolutely delicious, can’t recommend it enough. Me and my family always go to them whenever we are in the area and it’s become such a fond memory for us. The chicken teriyaki is beyond the best and I crave it all the time. You just have to go!

Grabbed a quick bite while Christmas shopping. Great flavor, no frills, decent price. Chicken and shrimp combo were solid.

The mall food court has a lot of restaurants to choose from, but every time I go, I always seem to go to this particular one. My personal favorite is their teriyaki steak with rice or noodles (with vegetables). Sometimes I even go a little more by adding mushrooms. This particular dish has a lot of flavor. On this trip, on a weekend, everyone seems to have the same idea. The line was long! It’s a good thing that their associates are not only friendly, but are also fast. Definitely a must try next time you are at the mall.

They seem to have no pride in their work. They just throw food items in these plastic container with no system at all. Eating is also a visual experience. I am not sure who gives five stars. I ordered beef teriyaki and it was just disgusting.

It’s pretty good and reasonably priced. Very consistent from one to the next. Can’t complain. ♂️

This restaurant is my favorite when visiting the Maine Mall. It’s located in the Food Court. The service is fast and the food is very fresh. The owners are very kind and considerate. When my pregnant daughter was in the line with her big belly (8 years ago) the owner pulled her to the front of the line and treated her to a meal. Great place!

Came here without much of high expectations, just want to have some rice dishes. Ordered the beef and shrimp combo. Surprisingly, the small shrimps don’t have the dirt lines on their back! Food taste good. Totally satisfied!

Less than mediocre. Lo Mein was flavorless, aside from the teriyaki sauce which flavored the entire meal. Beef was passable, but didn’t add much, what with the whole meal tasting the same. Veggie option was a nice touch, but bland steamed cabbage with basic fried rice does not a meal make. It’s food court Japanese, this might be all you can expect.
