What a wonderful experience at Sarkozy Bakery this Sunday. They have a weekly brunch and live music! This week featured a stunning string quartet made up of members of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. The music was absolutely beautiful and created the perfect atmosphere for a slow, cozy brunch.

I ordered the French toast—anise bread topped with raspberry compote and lemon diplomat cream—and it was incredible. My husband had the quiche of the week, which may have been the best quiche I have ever tasted. It was unbelievably silky and perfectly balanced.

We will absolutely be returning.

My kids loved the pastries they got and I enjoyed my coffee. I was told all the art on the walls is for sale. Just let the staff know and they will contact the artist. It seems like a great spot to hang out and enjoy down town. My daughter said her croissant was flakey but also soft and my son loved the amount of cinnamon on this roll. Everything was clean and the food was delicious. Very reasonably priced and I love the staff! 10/10 recommend!

I found this business by going to the Kalamazoo Winter’s Farmers Market this past Saturday morning. I got a baguette and the onion rolls. The baguette was good. Airy, chewy on the inside, and crunchy/flaky on the outside. The onions rolls I used this morning for breakfast sandwiches. OMG, the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. I googled the business in the hopes of finding if they go to other markets, and found that they have this actual location! They’ve been around since before I was born and I never knew about them! Glad I’ve found this place in my lifetime because it’s the best bread I’ve had in a while.

I have been wanting to stop here for months and I chose the right day because the owner herself was there and she gave me a welcome gift of a free cookie! The cookie was very good and it would only have been a dollar at full price, I will definitely come back for another. I ordered an 8 inch pizza, its more of a thin crust but and it was just filling enough for an early lunch. My partner got a half ham and cheese sandwich and was impressed by the quality of the meat. His meal included a small bowl of soup on the side. Our two meals came up to about $15 and I purchased some of their pins and stickers. On top of good food and great prices, the atmosphere and decor is so cute and fun. I am so happy I came here, Sarkozy Café is amazing!

Staple bakery; great daily / early morning bread and pastries. Sometimes the “order ahead” gets confused (hence the one less star) and their Eastern European styles are fantastic. Also great for a light breakfast and seasonal needs.

We traveled to the bakery from the east side of the state. Having purchased whole wheat bread at the Kazoo farmers market a month or so ago, we wanted to try the bakery experience. Everything tasted great and everyone was helpful and nice. While I know it is impossible to have all breads everyday, I wish there was a way to purchase (maybe frozen) different bread on other days. We just can’t be there for each of the specialty bread days. In any case worth the drive for what you can purchase on the day you arrive.
Thank you and we do look forward to stopping by the next time we are in the area.

We tried Quiche, Raisin & Rum croissant and biscotti. All was very good. They also have self serve water street coffee.

Update 02/15/25: Tried their pizza which was very good given the price point. Also their crossaint and pie was great.
