Long-running international chain serving up South Indian vegetarian dishes, including dosas.

A pleasant enough pure vegetarian restaurant serving South Indian cuisine. Had the masala dosa for lunch which came with sambhar and three chutneys. Food service was quick. Having eaten in a number of Sarvana Bhavan restaurants around the world I was disappointed in the flavour of the dosa filling. Though the daar was very good. I also got a sweet lassi which could have been a bit sweeter. Staff are efficient and friendly. There was a buzz about the place with many people in there. I’d visit again if in the area.

One of the more authentic Indian food I’ve had in Berlin. Real spice, real flavors filled with depth. It’s a franchise so they actually got locations globally.
We ordered the thali but found it okay and bit bad in value. I think everyone comes here for the dosas which looked very good as I peeped at our neighbors. At least the thali curries are spicy enough and not bland like in many other Indian places in town. Appreciated the kick.
All in all good service, great all vegetarian menu. Also the mango lassi was just fine not too sweet. Highly recommend for more authentic flavors!!

Very delicious food, great service and nice ambience. The mysore dosa is so good, I can eat it every day. Very balanced seasoning with the right amount of spices, the chutneys are amazing, especially the tomato one. The sambar is to die for, very delicious and suits the crispy dosa well. The chai is also delicious, creamy but not too sweet. The waiters are quick to respond and friendly. The instrumental Indian music in the background along with a lot of natural lights through the windows make it very relaxing and enjoyable to eat there.

Went to eat idli vada and masala dosa after being in Europe after 2 years I have tasted South Indian food. Super food quality and heavy for myself and a bit spicy too but overall quality is top notch. 1 masala dosa for 14 and idli vada for 10 euros.

There’s most of the waiting at this place. I like only the South Indian dishes here honestly, rest of them didn’t feel great to me. I go here for the paper roast masala dosa, I feel it’s the closest to what I get back home comparing the size, the crisp and the filling. The filter coffee is good and makes me feel nostalgic. Too crowded on the weekends. No special waiting area and you would need to wait outside in the cold if it’s winter.

Today, I visited and had a special Madras filter coffee, masala dosa, and vada. Unfortunately, the coffee didn’t quite live up to its name – it wasn’t authentic Madras coffee, nor was it even a good representation of regular Indian coffee! I brought this to the staff’s attention, and they kindly provided a replacement, but it tasted the same. The masala dosa was cold and lacked flavor. The vada appeared crispy on the outside but had a rubbery texture inside.
I’ve visited this restaurant multiple times before, and the service and food have always been tasty, authentic, and fresh. However, this experience was a letdown and not worth the money.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Outstanding South Indian Food – Best in Germany!
I had an amazing experience at Saravanaa Bhavan. I tried the Mysore Masala Dosa, Rasam Soup, Ghee Sambar Idly, Masala Dosa, Gulab Jamun, and their Special Madras Coffee—and honestly, every single item was top-class.
The flavors were authentic, rich, and perfectly balanced. The dosas were crispy, the sambar and rasam tasted exactly like traditional South Indian home food, and the ghee idly was incredibly soft and flavorful. The Madras coffee was pure perfection, and the Gulab Jamun was fresh and delicious.
Without exaggeration, this is the best South Indian food I’ve had in the whole of Germany—and I can confidently say it’s even better than many places I’ve eaten in India. Authentic taste, consistent quality, and true South Indian essence.
Highly recommended for anyone who loves real South Indian cuisine. I’ll definitely be coming back again and again! ☕️

The food was delicious, with a wide variety of tiffin options. Vegetarians will especially love this place, as it offers many choices similar to those found in India.

Tasty vegetarian food at reasonable prices. The menu has a lot of variety with South Indian, Indian Chinese and North Indian dishes. Very conveniently located. The service was quick and liked the ambiance of the place.

The restaurant is spacious, clean, and offers appreciable service. A bit on the expensive side. However, I wish the food tasted more authentic. I tried some of the mainstream dishes, but they lacked the OG flavor. Perhaps the ingredients are to blame, and I hope they fix this soon.
