Reviews
Here to agree with the rest of the reviews since Sara’s was sold. They’re still using the basic formula which is good, but penny pinching is driving out the business. The last time I went, out pizza was doughy and they mixed up my order. This time, the dough was burnt on the ends and soggy in the middle, so they cranked up the heat on the oven to get the pizzas out quicker. And one of my pizzas barely had any sauce on it.
I don’t care if you thank us for your business on your sign when your food yells the opposite. You bought an incredible name and recipe – please don’t burn this place to the ground. Invest in your customers, not in your bottom line. This is the ONLY way you’re going to make it through these next few months.
Small town community vibe is incredibly strong here. Quality food is far more important than superficial quality service. Now it’s up to you to make it right.
– Italian Stallion Sub: Dense with meats and cheese. Toasted on the darker side, but still plenty soft. The pizza sauce was a nice addition. It was a tad spicy, but plenty mellow for me (I can take habanero hot). The ends (less than an inch) of the sub were a bit empty of meat and over toasted, but the rest was fine.
– 14” Pizza: Ordered pepperoni, sausage, and bacon and it was a great balance of everything. The cheese was spot on and the toppings were a great amount for the pizza. The pepperoni was a bit on the lighter side, but it honestly seemed calculated for the best flavor in this case.
The pizza texture was a bit on the tougher side and darker cooked, but that comes with the stone oven cooking. It is a different way of cooking that has a strong following out there. I am not a big fan of the method, but I really enjoyed this pizza nonetheless.
– Conclusion: I’ve been recommended this place and I can see why. They have been around for almost 40 years and it is a cozy little place in Hudsonville. Give them a try!
Company provided this for employees for lunch on a Thursday around noon twice.
Tried the Sicilian pizza here for the first time and it definitely hit the spot. The crust was thick and airy with that crispy bottom you expect from a good pan-baked pie. Toppings were generous, especially the cheese, and the sauce had a nice balance of sweetness and tang
