Sarahi was extremely kind and an amazing host. The food was great and very filling. This is a family owned establishment and I’m very happy we decided to try it and definitely have plans to be back.

I did a little research before arriving in Denver for places to eat where I could get good green chili and this place seemed to come up decent and not too far from my hotel, so I gave it a try. Upon driving there I was surprised to see it in a very nasty neighborhood, but going inside Sarahi herself took care of me and she was very friendly and helpful. She gave me her story of coming from Mexico, new Puerto Vallarta and bringing her mom’s recipes here with her and wanting to open a restaurant where she could share those with others.
Her service was great and her cooking was very nice. I got a smothered chicken burrito, which she smothered with her green sauce. The chicken in it was nicely seasoned and the entire burrito was pretty good. The green sauce wasn’t “green chili” though, it was a citrus based green sauce.
Her salsas were decent, she brought me a regular and a spicy and both had a nice kick to them.
In all, I hope she continues to do well, she definitely does a very good job here!

All the food at Sarah’s is excellent. However, the house specialty are theor tamales.
The family that runs and owns the place are from Guerrero (Oaxaca’s neighboring state) and they make tamales with banana leaves, not the more common corn leaves. The tamales are full of flavor. These tamales are so in demand that you should plan ahead. I would call and make sure that they have some before you show up.
This is the third time I’ve visited and every time I’ve been there I have felt cared for.

Highly recommend! Very kind & friendly service, yummy asada fries with great presentation, even to go. Sketchy location but Colfax will always be Colfax.

Sarahi is the most welcoming chef with her warmth, generosity and amazing skills with food and drink. The tamales were the BEST I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot. Sarahi insisted we try the berry jalapeño marg and it was sublime – not too sweet, but delicious and interesting with a little kick. Our portions were too large to finish, and the ingredients were fresh and plentiful. The guac that came along was outstandingly fresh and loaded with chunks – so delicious. The burrito was delicious and enormous and the enchiladas were perfect. The place is not in the best neighborhood but Sarahi is the best chef and totally worth the trip!

Some of the best birria this city has ever seen! Incredible service, small family owned business with reasonable prices. Area is a bit sketchy so I went for lunch.

We LOVED Sarahi’s Kitchen!! It was our first time eating here, and we got to meet Sarahi herself. She immediately knew it was our first time, and gave us hugs and told us all about her delicious food! It was SO FRESH. Her son was our server Absolutely get the quesabirria!!! Amazing. Seriously this is the best Mexican food on Colfax, if not in all of Denver! We left feeling like family ❤️

EVERYONE LISTEN! You have to try these tacos!!! Sarahi’s food is absolutely amazing, and I loved chatting with her and learning about her culture. And the fact that she won the Top Taco competition!
I found this place a few weeks ago and loved the prices for Taco Tuesday. Literally cannot beat the deal they have and the taste is unreal! I’ve been back for three Tuesdays in a row and plan on coming to many more!
Do yourself a favor and come check it out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Update (7/31) They’ve been open for a few months now and they still deliver the freshest Mexican food in the area. You can tell everything is made to order and portions are great. We order from them at least once a week, we’re so happy to have them around the corner from us. They definitely deserve all 5 stars
Came here on a whim since we just moved around the corner and the place was great! We were welcomed by a friendly man named Louis who explained that they had just opened a few weeks ago. We got complimentary salsa and chips. We ordered the smothered burrito and chicken fajitas and they arrived quickly and the ingredients were fresh. They even gave us complimentary sopapillas with honey. The food was delicious and the prices were super inexpensive. It was around $44 for 3 entrees (we ordered a third meal for take away). We will definitely be back!
