Interestingly, Sushi has dramatically evolved over the course of time. A famous tale precedes our current understanding of sushi today. In the second century, A.D., rice wrapped fish was used as a preservation instrument instead of an accompaniment to the fish. Raw fish was placed in rice and allowed time to ferment, allowing for the fish to be kept edible for some time. When ready, the individual discarded of the rice and consumed the fish.

This sushi restaurant is a hidden gem tucked away on a street corner.
The vinegared rice is warm and smooth, the fish fresh and sweet. The otoro tuna melts on the tongue, the tamagoyaki is fluffy and delicately sweet. Every piece is just right—a testament to skilled craftsmanship.
The prices are approachable. A lunch set costs just $16. the service is especially thoughtful. drinks refilled with a smile. That kind of attentiveness feels like visiting an old friend.
No flashy signs, just sincere dedication to the food. When you leave, the taste lingers—and so does the warmth. It’s a quiet reminder that craftsmanship and care can still meet, pure and simple.

We recently dined at Sapporo for the first time and had an exceptional experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with a smile by the lovely receptionist and promptly seated. The ambiance at night is romantic, with dim lighting complemented by table lamps that enhance both visibility and photo quality if you are someone who loves taking pictures.
Our servicer ensured we were comfortable before proceeding with each course of the omakase, and the gentleman who was in charged of refilling our glasses of water was attentive as well. Every dish was beautifully presented, fresh, and well-balanced. The sushi had an ideal rice-to-fish ratio, making it light yet satisfying. Perfect for those who enjoy dressing up without worrying about feeling too full or worrying about their clothes getting tight.
The salmon was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the cocktails were smooth and well-balanced. As a birthday surprise, they kindly offered a complimentary dessert.Even the restrooms were clean, spacious, and pleasantly scented.
Highly recommend for a special night out.

The fried rice tasted like it was microwave food. The rice wasn’t cooked fully and the chicken was just boiled with no flavor. I attempted to put soy sauce on it, but the one on our table was rancid and it ruined the meal. I can only recommend the onion soup.
The menus are sticky, as though they never get cleaned. The staff is friendly despite the food quality and cleanliness, which is always appreciated.

Came in before a flight and was impressed with the quality of the foods. Our waiter was taking care of the entire place. Beef was cooked perfectly tender and ahi tuna was thin cut and peppery. Are at happy hour and that’s the absolute best time to enjoy their foods. Food came fast and everything was eaten.

Accidentally selected wrong location online and when I realized it, I called to cancel order and get a refund. The owner refused to refund me because food was already made and he “doesn’t have a budget for waste”.
My mom then tried to speak with him and he was even more rude to her. Told us we could get uber to bring us the food or get it ourselves. He was going to leave the food out for us til end of day. Then hung up on us.
If you’re in Cypress – go to the fry rd location. Much kinder and genuine service. They actually care about you as a human being and a customer.

The service was great at this place. Food needs some improvement. The rice in the sushi roll is mushy. The pork cutlet was dry and the beef in their udon was tough. We also had the shrimp and vegetable tempura. Not quite the traditional japanese food to expect. The decor of the place is nice. Good for a late night drink with their full bar.

This place was good overall, with a pleasant atmosphere and decor that I really liked. I had higher expectations for the food, but it was okay. The waitress was very kind and gave us great recommendations. Overall, it’s a decent spot.

My daughter introduced me to this place yesterday. It’s AMAZING! Fresh, great taste, fast service. Friendly staff. We also had the Crab Rangoon that were so light and flaky, and stuffed with REAL crab. Their accompanying sauce was also very good. My daughter had the Chicken Katsu entree that she said was sooo good. Here’s my Alaska Sushi $12 for 8 rolls. Definitely coming back!!!

Came in to celebrate my son’s birthday, as he is a huge steak fan. He took one bite and his eyes grew wide, “dad, this is perfect!” He said. Thanks for making it such a special night for him. We also ordered sushi and udon for my other kids, and they loved it. Will definitely be back again soon!
