Social Profile:

Sapha Kafae is a laid-back Thai coffee and brunch spot near the California State Capitol, inspired by Southeast Asia’s vibrant kopitiam café culture. We serve strong coffee, savory street-style dishes, and retro vibes rooted in 1970s French Indochina. Our name means “coffee council” in Thai—think of it more like a neighborhood coffee club where people come to talk shop, share stories, and stay a while. Sapha Kafae is your go-to for bold flavors, good company, and a touch of vintage charm.

I ordered the bak kut teh (Malaysian herbal pork stew) and a roasted corn coffee. Very reasonable prices and delicious. This kind of food is authentic and not easy to find. Husband and wife are so lovely! Would definitely come back again to try the other dishes

Tried the sunrise wrap and a thai green tea. Both were absolutely delicious. The service was very friendly and the staff all seemed really excited to be there and willing to answer questions about the menu items. The interior is also super cute and created a great ambiance. I just moved to the neighborhood and there’s several things on the menu I’d like to try so I’ll definitely be back

Sheldon High School Instrumental Music Program thanks Sapha Kafae for their generous donation of delicious skewers. The band students were truly grateful and the band parents had fun grilling the skewers. Thank you, Sapha Kafae, for supporting local performing arts!

I popped in for lunch. So glad, I did. Awesome new eatery with a fresh take on South East Asian cuisine. Street food with a modern flair. Reasonable pricing for the location. Husband and wife team owned and operated. Friendly service. Comfortable, cozy dining room.

The eatery is located on the corner of 10th and O Street. Sapha Kafae has been in business for about a month now. The decor is funky, modern. It is left from the previous tenants, but totally works with the current theme.

It is counter service with the orders brought out to the table. I ordered the Hainan Hustle $14.50. It was fantastic. No scamming here. Real deal perfectly poached chicken. The chicken was moist, flavorful, and fork tender. Literally I was able to cut it with my fork. They do cut it in slices, but I further cut mine into smaller pieces. The garlic rice was fluffy and not at all overpowering garlicky. Very subtle. Yum. The clear chicken broth was superb. Mmm. Delicious. The dipping sauce was phenomenal, a flavor explosion. The cucumber slices were large and cut with rounded ridges which elevated the presentation. Actually the entire plate presentation was thoughtfully arranged.

The menu is innovative, a fusion of modern Thai street vendor food. I am eager to come back and try other items. They serve coffee drinks as well.

Delicious breakfast of soft boiled eggs (runny + yummy) with strong coffee and roti + condensed milk for a sweet treat. I worked here w my coworking group. Strong WiFi and friendly owners made it a comfortable place to work from. Tim & Gift are so welcoming. Later I had a Thai tea with espresso. When I lived in Thailand for 5 years, I used to drink this at a café in BangNa. It was called an “owl” นกฮูก bc it will make your eyes open wide . Great drink and perfect for a workday to stay awake and alert. The table next to me got the the nam phrik noom sampler platter and it looked incredible –lots of colorful veggies, meats and chile dip. I’ll definitely be back to try it soon. Sacramento is lucky to have an authentic SE Asian café with this menu. I hope more people can be adventurous and give it a try soon!
