This was our first time dining here and we were excited to try something new. They weren’t busy , only one other table . We ordered the sampler appetizer and jasmine tea to start. We had to ask for the tea . After our meals were brought, no one checked to see if anything was needed. The food was ok but I expected more flavor . The service was bare minimum and any questions seemed like an inconvenience.

We were visiting Tupelo for four nights and loved Sao Thai so much, we ate there three times! The food was fresh, delicious, and felt very authentic. I had the seafood salad, papaya salad, chicken satay, and coconut shrimp—all so good.
The staff was super friendly and helpful. On our first night, I accidentally left my Gucci sunglasses. I didn’t notice until the next day and was so worried—but when I called, they had found them and saved them for me. That really meant a lot.
The prices were just right, there’s plenty of parking, and the whole experience was great. We kept coming back because they truly earned our trust and our business. Highly recommend!

Wonderful, fresh, authentic Thai food, and excellent service in a relaxed, classy atmosphere with “new jazz” music gently playing in the background.

Very good, local restaurant. Charming and relaxed atmosphere. Always greeted quickly when we arrive. Service is very quick and the food is served nice and hot. They will adjust spice level for you- just let them know. Plenty of appetizer and soup choices. Lots of noodle and rice dishes. Seafood, chicken, beef and veggie dishes. Check out the online menu for a complete list. The Panang Noodle is an interesting dish with large fried noodles in a creamy curry sauce with chicken and vegetables. The Red Curry is delicious and can be ordered with your choice of protein. They have a couple of dessert items. They serve alcohol.

Food is fantastic- did not expect this of Tupelo – here for a day only. We wanted to go to the Blue Canoe but that one was stuffed like sardines in a can with another group waiting to be seated – what a great decision we have made to come to this Thai place! Great food, great appetisers. We had basil duck with fried calamari, thai beef jerky and shrimp crispy rolls – totally satisfied with the food, with service and availability of seating.

I love the noodle soup with ground chicken, it’s one of my favorite meals to grab on the go, especially through the winter.
The intimate setting and low lighting make for an enjoyable dining experience. It’s almost always packed so you know it’s good!

This was our first visit. The atmosphere is unexpected. It feels like time warp back to the 40s or 50s inside, but not in a bad way. There was old 40s jazz and ballads playing quietly in the background. It made me feel like I was experiencing an immigrants journey through American culture in the early-to-mid 29th century.
The food was fantastic! Recognizable Thai dishes but many with subtle twists to make them unique. My wife got the Panang Chicken Curry. She said the flavor was awesome and the fried noodles (tempura style) were interesting. She said the texture was almost like a tempura vegetable, so it took her brain a bit to adjust to what it was. My Drunken Noodles with Scallops were fantastic, down to the clever garnish of a cucumber carved into a flower! It had the perfect balance of spice and umami, complimenting the functions texture and delicate flavor of the scallops. Our appetizers were also great: quality potstickers and chicken satay. We also shared a Spicy Thai Beef Salad… this was even better than the appetizers! It was the perfect balance of herbs, greens, and the tangy, spicy vinaigrette.
The only downside of the experience was our server. She seemed very distracted by the bartender and didn’t know how to talk about the specials. She had to bring the manager over to answer our questions. Everything else made up for the average service.

When ordering the food I told them I had an onion allergy, so naturally they put onions in the food. The onions were in the vegetables. I had about 5 or 6 bites of the rice till I saw it and asked about it. When I brought it to the attention of the staff there was little to no remorse. I immediately went outside to take my meds. The staff didn’t ask how I was, they just took the food back to cook a new one without even asking me if I wanted them to. We asked for the check and they didn’t remove it from the bill. I told them I was concerned about eating it now. The end result was us throwing the thing in a to-go container and driving to Taco Bell where I threw it away to get something else. The complete indifference of the staff over this made me absolutely disgusted. I’m dealing with a flare up right now. Thank goodness I didn’t eat one the onions; I’m not in a financial position to deal with an emergency room visit right now. The staff doesn’t seem to understand how serious of a situation this could have been. I travel to Tupelo twice a month for work. I’ll make sure to share this experience.

This was a surreal experience. The food tasted delicious, but I wish there had been music playing because other than a dozen grandfather clocks once in a while, it was eerily silent. Our servers seemed inexperienced but they did their best.
I also wish there had been a sign indicating that it was self-seating, since we stood waiting for several minutes. And while we each found a hair in our food, it did taste good! $12.95 for good chicken Pad Thai is hard to beat.
