Sanyuu West is truly a gem. Every time I go, I’m reminded why it’s one of my favorite spots. The food is exceptional — everything tastes incredibly fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and full of authentic flavor. The ramen is rich and comforting, the sushi is beautifully crafted, and even the small plates feel like they’re made with real care.

The service is another highlight. The staff are warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling intrusive. They know their menu well and are always happy to make recommendations, which I appreciate.

The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, perfect for a casual dinner, a date night, or even just a quiet meal alone. You can tell they put effort into the little details, and it makes the whole experience feel special.

Overall, Sanyuu West delivers consistency, quality, and great vibes every single time. If you’re looking for amazing Japanese food with top-notch service, this place is an easy 10/10. Highly recommended.

I loved everything about this place! We did the 15 course option for $87 with some additions. Each bite was unique and tasty. The fish melted in your mouth. I definitely could’ve had more but it was just enough for me.

Came here for dinner with a friend and was genuinely impressed. The fish was incredibly fresh and delicious, and Chef Jason put on an amazing show while preparing our meal. He not only showcased his culinary talent but also took the time to recommend some great bars and local spots to check out afterward. A fantastic experience all around!

It’s a great place for a quick omakase where you want to focus on the food (not for hanging out).
But I thought that the items were a bit “too much” sometimes, the sauce and decoration would be overpowering the fish, which made it a bit disappointing, because you couldn’t taste the fish or the rice. For example the yuzu was making the whole thing just taste like yuzu and nothing else. Or the fried leeks also, a bit too much.

But apparently you can ask for what you want and your preferences. I wanted to try it as is, but next time I’d ask more focus on the fish.

And I thought that the fish slices were too small too thin.
They are also pre-cut, so not much to see there.
No dessert in the 15 courses is a bit disappointing.

Quality omakase at a reasonable price point! Very much enjoyed this experience and would highly recommend for omakase lovers to check out. The flavor combinations were delicious and the fish was very fresh.

The restaurant itself was very clean and pleasant. All the fish were excellently prepared overall. I really liked the fluke topped with its own fin — it was something I’d never seen before in New York. The sesame oil sauce used for the eel was also unique and delicious. I appreciate the chef and the restaurant staff for celebrating my friend’s birthday with us. We had such a wonderful time.

Their omakase was a really good experience. Chef Hangu did his best to make the best sushi for us. We enjoyed it. Would love to come here again.

I forgot to take a picture, but the ikura was the best ikura I’ve ever had, it wasn’t fishy at all. And the nori they use for the hand rolls is amazing and so easy to chew. Best nori. I really enjoyed the madai, the hamachi, kanpachi, scallop, botan ebi, and omg the o-toro was amazing. Great value for the number of courses. I left feeling satisfied–I usually order extra pieces but here I didn’t feel the need to. Some loaded pieces at the end were so soft and melted in my mouth. At $87 per person for 15 courses, it was a truly satisfying experience for a great value.

This place is my new favorite spot for omakase. Fish to rice ratio was perfect. Watching an artist paint a masters piece by piece, the flavor profile is amazing, each piece was better that the last piece. $78 for 15 course is really good.

Spectacular 15 course omakase – fresh ingredients, well-paired flavors, generous servings. Would absolutely come back! Chef’s were kind and accommodating to our requests for ingredient modifications. Glad we did not trust the negative reviews – none of those comments were relevant. Oh! for $78 this place is a great deal.
