We live this place. Everytime we go shopping at mitsuya for groceries and the freshest sushi head fish, we stop her for dinner. Their tempura is cooked perfectly, very crispy on the outside with a good coating of crunchy flacks and tender on the inside. They have a large selection of ramein and udon bowls both served hot and cold

So check out the photos of the many bowls and specials they have. And check out the pictures of the tempura selections where you can choose and pick your favorites.

UDON EVEN KNOW HOW DELICIOUS THIS PLACE MAKES THEIR UDON!
I’ve forgotten how much I love Udon! I ordered the Beef Udon for lunch today, possibly the best I’ve ever had! (Like my current husband! He’s the best husband I’ve ever had!) The bowl of udon was swimming in a tasty light broth with green onions and thin large slices of beef. Great price, variety, customer service and fast! Perfect lunch for me on my weight loss journey!

Wanted some hot soup noodles for dinner so we went to Sanuki Seimen Mugimaru at Mitzuwa Costa Mesa. There was a line when we arrived. We waited for 10 mins to place our order. We ordered a Katsu Curry Udon, a Zaru Udon and a Kake Udon. At the cashier we added some tempura (eggplant, sweet potato, lotus root, shinsito and pumpkin) to go with our upon. Total price was at $28. Very reasonable priced for the
tempura items, size is good too. There are plenty of veggie tempura to choose from.

We had to pre-order the tempura sweet potato because it was still cooking. I waited for it after I paid. They almost forgot the order, I had to remind the cashier about it. He was very nice and went to pick up the sweet potato and added to my box to pass to me.

By far one of the best udon and tempura places ever even though I haven’t been there in a while it was always my favorite place to get udon! You can also choose your own toppings for instance Japanese pumpkin tempura. The tempura was a little too thick but it was still pretty good. The problem is that it gets too crowded on the weekends and there usually isn’t enough seating but other than that the food is good. Also I have realized that the girl with glasses working at the cash register isn’t friendly so don’t be surprised if she doesn’t seem kind. There is a tan woman who speaks Japanese and she has been working there for some time and she is the best employee I’ve come across. I’m glad she still works there. But I’m glad I came back because it’s been a long time since I’ve been back here. ❤️

After getting my blood labs done I wanted to get a nice bowl of noodle soup. I haven’t been here in years and decided to stop by. I ordered the home run udon. The broth is as good as ever. Lots of udon and various toppings. The squid tempura was not as good as it used to be. It was also a lot smaller. I also got the fried white fish that was very disappointing. Overall it is still a good choice for udon.

Got off a long and early flight to CA. Came to Mitsuwa Marketplace to go shopping and saw Sanuki Seimen Mugimaru. Long line and the place was bustling. Well worth the wait for amazing beef udon and delicious tempura. Friendly service and great selection of food. Very affordable too. Thank you!

Good Udon soup. The OBB special is great and comes with a concentrated beef flavored sauce, which I like. The #3 Beef Udon is good with a nice broth, but the beef is a little tough. The #8 Pork Udon is good. The #5 Chicken Udon is ok, it’s a clear broth, not creamy, and the chicken has a smoked flavor which I don’t care for. I like the serve yourself a la carte assorted tempura options.

Line can get a little out of hand but well worth the wait. Portions are reasonable for the price but you will end up spending more once you add a few pieces of tempura. Gave it 4 stars because seating in the food court can be a pain. You’ll walk around looking for a spot and it can take a few minutes. You’ll have a better time if one person gets in line while the other person hunts down a table. Good spot overall though.

A popular choice in the high traffic space. The yellow oven really catches my eyes. I got there and saw the various different kinds of Tempura of vegetables and proteins. The onion, shitake ,fishcake and egg tempura all taste awesome. While the eggplant one tastes too oily. Might try for Seimen next time.

This is the BEST spicy udon you can have anywhere in the world, except may be at Japan itself.
I repeat, this is THE udon to live and die for: the broth is rich, the meat cut is plenty, and the tempuras to go with it are just too good, fresh and crunchy
Oh, and they are also very cheap for the quality, less than $8 for an udon bowl.
MUST TRY. EVERYDAY EVEN, MAYBE
