This beautiful stone restaurant is nestled in the heart of Puebla. We sat out in the patio area, which is located in the center of the restaurant.
Iram was our server and he did a fantastic job of explaining the history and all the different types of foods and drinks, this restaurant has to offer. We ordered soup and a variety meat tray. The food was delicious, and the drinks were great.
The atmosphere was on point and the food was even better. Definitely going back.

Wow. The only bad thing we experienced was the awful pizza. So skip the pizza with its terrible crust.
But I guarantee that you will leave with a big smile on your face because everything else is great. The pasta. The tapas. The cream de chile poblano soup, the main dishes. Just delicious.

What an unfortunate, miserable experience.
I can only speak to what we ordered, but the experience overall was extremely disappointing. We arrived around 9:00 PM on a Saturday night, under the assumption the restaurant was open until 11:30 PM. By 9:45, someone came over to tell us we needed to order immediately because the kitchen was closing. That caught us completely off guard.
Even before that, we were being rushed. Three separate people tried to take our menus while we were still looking at them. I explained to the waiter that we just wanted to relax, have a drink, and enjoy a slow-paced meal, but that clearly wasn’t going to happen.
We ordered an appetizer to have with our drinks, and it was very bad. You’d expect an appetizer that features goat cheese to actually have some goat cheese, but there was barely any. If you’re expecting goat cheese I wouldn’t recommend anything on their menu with goat cheese. In fact I was skeptical of most dishes on the menu, but I was approaching the menu as an American and world traveler.
On top of that, there were constant interruptions, the table wasn’t even set properly (no plates or silverware), and the whole thing just felt sloppy. The drinks tasted like they had little to no alcohol. I ordered a cocktail that was supposed to feature marinated bacon. I was expecting at least a small bacon garnish. Nope. They told me they just “strain it through bacon,” which was another total let down.
Between the rushed service, the unnecessarily loud music, the disappointing food, and the feeling that they just wanted us out, it felt more like a TGI Friday’s or Applebee’s than a quality restaurant. And that might be fine, but not when you expect every meal to count.
When their menu tells The story of how great they are, you expect to be paying for the best but when they serve you crap and give you bad service they still expect you to pay for the best even though you don’t get it…
If you only have a limited number of dinners during your trip, don’t waste one here. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

We went to Santoua for Valentines (the night before to avoid crowds). It was our first visit and we now consider it our favorite fine dining restaurant. The food was delicious – ensalada vermel I had grilled shrimp with cauliflower risotto, my husband had the pork belly, and dessert. We also had a tasty merlot. The service was impeccable. And the ambiance is beautiful with nice background music. Great for a romantic dinner

A perfect dinner.
The staff are welcoming and attentive from start to finish. Our waiter, Jaime, was especially kind and helpful with recommendations and descriptions for several menu items. We had tuna chicharron, pork belly, filete stroganoff, crème brûlée for desert, and some cocktails. Each item was a new experience of flavor combinations for us and all were wonderfully balanced. This was the gastropub experience I didn’t know I was looking for. Highly recommended.

I stopped in for breakfast with a friend. I ordered a Latte, French Toast, and the Dennise Plate. All very good and flavorful! Service was attentive and the atmosphere was comforting.

The food and atmosphere were great, and we enjoyed the overall vibe of the restaurant. However, our experience was greatly affected by the service. Our server, Faby, was only attentive when taking our order. After that, she completely ignored us. To make matters worse, our drinks were cleared without us being finished, making us feel rushed and unwanted. Despite this poor service, she still expected a tip. It’s disappointing when the service doesn’t match the quality of the food and atmosphere.
