Social Profile:

Santō is a vibrant sushi and hand roll bar in the heart of Silver Lake on Sunset Blvd. With its roots in Roma Norte, Mexico City’s artistic and culinary center, guests can expect a convivial vibe and bold flavors. Much like its original location in CDMX, the focus is high quality sushi – sashimi, nigiri, hand rolls and rolls – with some unexpected twists. Where the original location is a cultural hot spot for a night on the town, Santō in Silver Lake aims to be the neighborhood’s go-to sushi counter, with great beer, wine and sake.

Cool little spot but the sushi was very underwhelming. Everything I tried fell a bit shot in terms of flavor and freshness. Service was pretty good, and the ambience was nice, but the sushi needed to be way better for it to merit a recommendation or return trip, and that sadly want the case here.

Santo in Silverlake is an absolute gem! The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the Wagyu handroll was my favorite — Hands down one of the best I’ve ever had that I had to order it twice. Our server was kind, attentive, and gave us great recommendations that made the experience even better.

We chose to sit outside because it was such a beautiful day, and dining indoors would have felt like a disservice to the sunlight shining through. The outdoor seating made everything feel relaxed and vibrant — Perfect for enjoying amazing food in a great atmosphere.

Parking is limited; it’s mostly first-come, first-serve street parking, so plan ahead. But once you’re there, you’re right in the heart of Silverlake surrounded by cute shops, so it’s the perfect spot to grab a delicious meal and then walk around and shop afterward.

Highly recommend Santo — Great service, fresh quality food, and that Wagyu handroll alone is worth the trip!

Don’t miss this spot …. Are you bored by the same old sushi, well this is the remedy. The fusion of Mexican & Japanese cuisine is rich and exciting. The ambiance of a tradition sushi bar, with service that creates memories. Cecy know how to create an experience.

I went for a quick bite and enjoyed really delicious sushi. I was able to sit solo and be seated fairly quickly after lot having a reservation.

It is a small place and not a lot of room; it would be great if it was a little bigger.

The food is great quality and highly recommend.

If you’re looking for incredibly high quality sushi at a reasonable price, look no further. From the delightful service, to the delicious food, to the overall experience at Santo, it doesn’t get much better than this. Not a single thing we ate here was less than awesome. Ceci, our server was prompt and kept the service rolling while the chefs behind the counter were friendly and focused on providing delicious food in a moments notice. I will absolutely be coming back here and I hope it’s sooner rather than later.

The food is just incredible, some of the best sushi I’ve had in a while. Unfortunately their reservation system is a bit clunky, which meant that had to seat us in an improvised spot, and we got served a couple of items by mistake. Other than that, an amazing food experience. The fish melts in your mouth and the sauces and spices enhance the flavor of some real fresh fish. Excellent.

I rarely write reviews… Unless I am so deeply moved by my experience that I am obliged to share ! Santo is a place that has absolutely left a lasting impression on me. From the Food, to the Customer experience, to the Flavors, the Ambiance, all together really makes this my favorite restaurant in all of Los Angeles.

Their quality of fresh fish and other ingredients blew my mind. In addition to their beautiful presentations, every single dish left me in awe. I have visited this restaurant many times in order to see if they had the consistency as well, and sure enough they do. I choose to come back time and time again, not only because of the food and the ambiance but also because I am treated like family here. The staff welcomes you and takes care of you like they would a family member, ensuring your experience be the best you’ve ever had. I have seen them treat every person that has walked in with the utmost care and kindness!

When you come and visit Santo, be sure to try the Hamachi-Choco, and their seared otoro. I guarantee you will leave there highly impressed and coming back for more!

Not a big fan of sitting on the side of street where people walk by and you intake that fumes coming from all these traffic. Got to sit inside by the bar, the food here is okay, but a bit pricey for what it’s worth. Been to many affordable to very expensive sushi places in the U.S. and in Asia, this place is more IG/social media friendly picturesque place than an actual sushi/sashimi place. Not much nigiri/sashimi choices. Not a big fan of places that sell pre-made canned alcohol with an extreme markup.
