Hidden gem! Santo is in a shared space with Metro Taco Stop. Everything we ordered was delicious and was made fresh- the sushi chef prepared everything in view. Service was excellent. Highly recommend the Tokyo Tejas roll and the El Alv if you like spicy.

I’ve never had sushi that has blown my socks off the way Santo Essence of Japan does every. Single. Time. And I’m a sushi lover! Tried it two weeks ago and this is my fourth time back. Brings a speak easy vibe to impress a date or family. The presentation is also incredible! My go to’s are the miso soup, gyozas, spicy edamame, Mango Tori, Sensei, and man oh man, the Santo Rey roll is to DIE for. 10/10 recommend!!!

Found this little Sushi Place off Bandera Road. The sushi was all delicious and fresh. Had 3 apps, the spicy tuna tostada, tempura Shrimp, and chicken fried rice. So good!! And Gracie provided great service. Will definitely come back!

My husband I walk by this place daily walking our dog. It is Metro taco spot by day and Santo Essence of Japan by night. Same owner and same amazing service. We decided to try this spot last night and it DID NOT disappoint! Wow! I have been to many sushi places in the city and I travel a lot and I was blown away by the beauty and detail of each plate they brought out and the flavor and freshness was outstanding. I cannot wait to return. I wish I had taken pictures, but I was too focused on enjoying the moment. I’ll make sure to do that next time. Please go and try this incredible local establishment.

Metro taco is moonlighting as a sushi place beginning at 3:30pm. This little sushi place was refreshing. The prices are average for a sushi restaurant with some items more affordable than others but more importantly the food is good. I had the crunchy roll and it was full of flavor, highly recommend. The Edamame is not your average edamame it is sauted in soy sauce and seasoning and served hot that keeps you coming back for more. Try out this new neighborhood spot.
