I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was really good, real food cooked by real people. This is a dying tradition to find food that’s not microwaved.

We’d spent the night at the Cow Palace in Lamar checking in on a Sunday . Not realizing the restaurant was closed on Sunday. So we drove to Holly to the Santa Fe trail house where I’d eaten before. It was fantastic! Everything we ordered was great! From the taco fries and giant house Salad to the rib eye steak and slaw hamburger and for dessert we had the Cherry pizza! The only thing missing was ala mode ice cream. It was quiet and cozy and the waitress was a doll! We were actually happy that the Cow Palace 1301 restaurant was closed and felt lucky to find the Santa Fe trail house open ! And equally as delicious! They also have a full bar and my bloody Mary was generous flavorful & strong! We now have two favorite dining places to choose from!

Most of my experience was negative but I will say the resturant was clean and the chicken wasn’t that bad. Along with my chicken, I ordered two baked potatoes with butter and cheese. I received one uncut baked potato with no butter and cheese and I didnt mind it wasnt uncut until I realized they never gave me silverware. I couldn’t help but laugh. I also only received one baked potato, they gave me some deep fried thing but I dont know what it was.

I’m grateful for a place to eat that doesn’t microwave food. However, my opinion is that with each new chef there’s less of it and it’s the same price. It’s now bar food at it’s best. The original chef had the best food and offered more of it.
The food isn’t worth the cost but it’s the only restaurant available when I don’t feel like cooking

Ribeye was excellent. The baked potato was just warm. Green beans, good. The country fried steak was awful and tasted like it was a frozen patty. Gravy had extremely too much salt. Was looking forward to the acclaimed mac & cheese I read about in another review but they have new owners and that item has been removed from the menu.

Awesome food every time I’ve been here! Steaks are amazing and locally raised! The staff is friendly. Anybody having negative reviews about this restaurant is a person that can’t be happy with anything.

Seems like a nice enough place. Unfortunately they had only one server and the sign said seat yourself.

As with all my reviews, I’ve been advocating for automatic doors for both locals and travelers to access establishments everywhere.
It’s huge and becoming a focus of the people who use MAPS, as a way to decide where they’ll be eating, shopping, or just visiting any business around the world.
