SUMMARY
-Prices are fair
– Food is good
– Portions are on the small side
– Service was not impressive
– Unlimited free chips and salsa is nice
– Ambiance is my favorite part
– Not my top choice of Mexican food (due to portion size and service)
– Menu is kinda hard to read due to the vibrant background images throughout the menu
– $55.60 before tax for 3 of us
SERVICE
– We were seated promptly and server came out quickly with menus, to deliver chips and salsa, and collect our drink orders
– Food was delivered relatively quickly
– Our waters were often empty and we’d have to ask for water refills (the salsa is a touch on the spicy side, so a cup of water on hand is needed)
– little details in our orders were missed (example 1:I never got lemons for my water; example 2: one of our group asked for corn tortillas instead of flour, and the meal arrived with flour tortillas, and they had to wait to eat for about 5 min until we saw our server again – and the server had to be flagged down – the server didn’t really check on us to see if we needed anything, we had to flag the server when we needed something)
– the server was friendly
FOOD
– my family was underwhelmed with portion size. I ordered a “wet burrito”, and when it came out it looked like a big taco . All of my family ate all of their food and was still a little hungry, so chips were the filler – at most other Mexican restaurants in the region my family would be bringing home leftovers)
PRICING
– pricing was fair compared to other Mexican restaurants in the region, but given the smaller portion size, that would make the food relatively expensive
– soft drinks are $2.99
– I did not see a surcharge for paying with a debit card (which is nice)
ATMOSPHERE
– I really enjoy the atmosphere at Sante Fe!
– the restaurant is all styled in a southern feel with Mexican decor
– the restaurant is very open concept design, which I like
WOULD I GO AGAIN?
– we only go to Sante Fe when meeting others there that suggest eating there. When it’s our choosing of Mexican, then we have a couple other places we prefer

What in the world has happened to this restaurant?The last time we were there was two years ago and the food was fantastic and plentiful. We were in the area again and decided to try it and could not have been more disappointed. I ordered the quesadilla “supreme” on the green dish and what I got was a one shredded chicken taco with barely any cheese and a little bit of lettuce, tomato and beans for $16. My husband ordered fajitas and they came like two steak looking tacos with absolutely nothing on the side for $18! I even called the waiter over to see if they got the order wrong. Very little food for that amount of money and it didn’t even look like a quesadilla or fajitas. We will not be back again.

Well, we tried here for lunch today and we quite disappointed. My brides chicken was quite chewy and not tasty at all.
My Chillaquilles were nacho chips with steak peppers and some sauce ladled over the top. Not
good at all . I asked for some hot sauce and the waiter brought back three bottles of store bought sauces . We won’t be back as there isn’t really anything worth coming back for. Disappointed .

If I can give 10 stars , I will. I have never seen any restaurant like this in the states I have visited. Service was great ! Food was hot and delicious ! I am definitely going back when passing by or in the area. Flan dessert was my absolute favorite. Superb ambiance ! Great for family gatherings or parties.

Food was very good. They are super busy. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated. The wait was a little long for food (at least 35 mins). Margaritas are delicious. Will definitely come here again!

For a tex mex restaurant they have amazing food. The queso dip was by far one of the best things in the menu. The chile rellenos are the best in indiana by far. I also ordered the Santa fe carnitas and they did not disappoint. They topped off the carnitas with grilled onions and mushrooms that just danced around playfully around your tongue proving the best flavor you’ve ever had. I’d highly recommend this place.

Best of the Best in Mexican Cantina in Northwest Indiana. If you like, going to Cantinas , if you like good service, if you like good atmosphere, if you like good Mexican grub you’ll miss out if you don’t stop here. Even the bathroom is beautiful, reminds me of the bathroom in a resort and Cozumel . Ill be back ! Salud!

The margaritas were really good and strong. The food was excellent.
We loved their rice, especially. My beef enchiladas were just slightly too salty. Otherwise, everything was top-notch. Our server did an excellent job on a Friday night with a crowded restaurant. Very, very happy we tried this place.

Excellent service, delicious food, and a great atmosphere. We were a party of 30 and they accommodated us with superb service. The Fajitas are highly recommended, excellent kids menu and perfect for families.

Large welcoming space, so I thought. I had high hopes but should have gone with my gut and listened to the bad reviews!!! Bartender was too busy eating in back to take my order. Gent who brings out chips to tables was also eating around the corner licking his fingers. Waiter Johan made drinks at the bar and literally had his glasses and hands up against my plate of food! Fajitas were tasteless and WAY overcooked. If you think this is the epitome of authentic awesome food you are delusional!!!!! DO NOT waste your time or your money!!!!!
