We came right as they opened for the night. My wife and I both like the Tsukemen (dipping noodles with a rich, thick soup to dip the noodles into) and it was delicious. It’s not authentic Japanese flavors (they add lime to it, which elevated the flavors very well. Very complementary to the dipping soup!) but it doesn’t have to be to be delicious. My daughter had the regular tonkotsu ramen which was yummy.
We ordered spam musubis and fried squid. The musubis were good but we thought the rice to spam ratio was a little off for an appetizer; it was a lot of rice! Very yummy nonetheless.
The portion sizes are quite generous and I ordered extra noodles as well. I eat a lot and was able to do it, but for most people the bowl and an appetizer is likely enough!
Also, the portions of meat were extremely generous and the pork was excellent. Crispy ends without losing tenderness or juiciness.
Like I said it’s not an authentic-to-Japan place; it’s more of a fusion type place, but what they make they make VERY good.

Tried Santa Barbara Craft Ramen with a friend. I orders the black garlic ramen with chicken. It was absolutely delicious. Broth was very flavorful. Noodles were very tasty. Seasoned perfectly. We will happily be back. I also added an egg to mine which I highly recommend doing!

We found this restaurant while visiting Santa Barbara and we were very happy with our food. The food was delicious and served promptly. My favorite was the Yuzu shoyu ramen! Definitely recommend it!

This is hands down the BEST ramen in downtown Santa Barbara, our family’s go-to spot every time! From the moment we walk in, we’re greeted with warm smiles and treated like we truly belong. The service is incredibly fast without ever feeling rushed, and they always make sure we’re taken care of.
The ramen is absolutely incredible — rich, flavorful, and the kind of meal that warms your soul and fills your belly just right. Even our kiddos can’t get enough and always ask when we’re coming back!
We leave here happy every single visit. Delicious food, genuinely kind people, and a place that feels like home, this restaurant deserves all the stars

We loved this spot for our first taste of Santa Barbara, conveniently close to our hotel. The ramen was tasty with a charred pork belly (in a good way) very flavorful. We sat outside and the sun was just starting to come out after rain on a Tuesday. It was a little chilly, but the restaurant provided heat lamps. My dish was do so. It was a beef bowl and the meat was sparse and lacked flavor. We also got chicken karaga which was very tasty and came with a soy sauce and slightly spicy yellow mustard sauce! The worst part and no fault of the restaurant, but two yappy dogs were there throughout the service and the owners made little attempt to quiet them down. Overall if was a pleasant place and a great location.

Every time I come to Santa Barbara, I pass by this place. It’s always packed so we decided to finally try it. We got the tuna katsu and that was okay, we found it under seasoned. Hubby and I both got the black ramen and my kids ate the original ramen. The kids gave the ramen 9/10. We give it 10/10. The ramen was very delicious. We gave the chicken karage 8/10. Overall a great experience.

They can help you create a gluten free Ramen dish. It was delicious. Staff was attentive and seemed really informed about GF items and options. Vegetarian options are available as well. Large servings. Seating is outdoors, which is fantastic for people- watching.

SB Craft Ramen is a fun spot to eat at if you’re craving ramen or sushi. The ramen definitely has a California spin on the classic ramen bowl. I usually get the veggie ramen, it has things I normally wouldn’t put in ramen such as greens and quinoa, and somehow it goes really well in the dish.
On my recent visit on a Saturday night the edamame was overcooked and some sushi pieces fell apart. Waitstaff were running around and not the most attentive, so that’s why 4 stars instead of 5.
The seating area right on State St is definitely more upbeat and buzzy compared to the seating area in the back which is a little more quiet. Our group enjoyed the buzz!

We stopped in for lunch on a weekday and were promptly seated. The outdoor patio area is roomy and cool, even with the sun shining brightly outside. The ramen was fantastic and a great portion – we couldn’t have eaten another bite. Pork belly was incredibly tender and flavorful, with a slight sweetness but it was not cloying as the marinated pork belly can be at other places. We also had the friend gyoza appetizer, which was good but the ramen was excellent. Yuzu shio ramen was citru- forward and we enjoyed that too.
