Chef is super friendly and welcoming, Thai origin, her nick name is Chef Lee, and although the name might confuse some, she is definitely Thai. Small place, clean with modern design. Papaya salad was as authentic and delicious as they come, nice and spicy, Thai spicy. Green curry was really tasty, organic fresh veggies cooked to perfection, nice and creamy with freshness throughout . I had it with the latest addition to Chef’s menu, , Salomon. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. My wife had the crab. She loved it. We finished with what else, the mango sticky rice. Delicious in house coconut sauce, (not your average can coconut sauce in other Thai joints(, We’ll be back real soon. And we were back three times since! :Pad see u is delicious, pad Thai is another classic thatmade to perfection by Chef Lee and the pork, of the pork. Crispy outside and delicious inside. Flavours are on point, in every single dish we tried! The BBQ chicken is crispy and delicious , served with the world famous papaya salad. A must. Every curry is a world of flavor. We are on a mission to try them all. It’s like having a Thai chef/ mom cooking for you. For desert we had the mangosticky rice ,and one sticky rice topped with coconut ice cream and peanuts on top. Like thai Sundae must try restaurant if you think you know Thai food

Everyone upset here ordered take out, because they wanted fast food. This place is not a fast food stop. Food here is to be enjoyed, slowly right after it’s made. Not boxed up sitting in a container
We ate in. The pace was perfect. First the papaya salad, so crunchy and balanced of sweet, spicy and salty. Second, green curry with salmon and her crab curry special. Last but not least the mango sticky rice. Lee’s food reminds me of my travels in Thailand.
Can’t wait to come back and try more of her menu.

First time trying this place. We got delivery via DoorDash and everything about this order was 110% awesome. Everything was packed really well and the takeout containers were very sturdy and well-made. The food was hot and very fresh. We got the green curry with jasmine rice and Hainan chicken rice (2 for the price of one!!). Everything was delicious and flavorful. Will definitely make this our go-to to-go Thai place from now on!

I ordered the Drunken noodles with vegetables. I did order it “Thai Hot”, but adding a quarter pound of raw minced Thai chillies is not the way to make food “Thai hot”. Any basic home cook can attest to the fact that for a dish to be balanced and palatable (even if it needs to be spicy) it needs to have supporting ingredients like salt, sweet. At long last, excellent Thai food has graced its presence in West LA. We used to drive pretty far to Thai town to escape the Thai food on the Westside, which tends to be bland, heavy on the soy sauce, and very one-note. No more. Sanook pretty much saves us the gas to Thai town and the time. It’s authentic, “bold flavors” Thai food. When you want things medium spicy, it’s actually pretty spicy for most palates. Finally. Finally! Chef Lee’s cooking is very nuanced, always with the wok heat flavor. When things get busy it can be a tad slow, as it’s a small family business. But it’s worth the wait. I’ve been to Thai restaurants 3-4 times the price in LA and Chef Lee’s dishes are on par. Fresh ingredients, nuanced flavors and beautiful plating. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu and I have yet to be disappointed. I have trouble naming a favorite because I enjoy it all, but to be specific, her Pad Thai is different in a familiar but amazing way, made with real tamarind. Even the Thai Iced Tea is excellent in its own way. Throughout it all, one can see the heart that goes into this place. I highly recommend going to the restaurant for dine in for the full experience.

My wife and I have been eating Thai food since childhood growing up in Southeast Asia. From Bangkok to Singapore to NYC to SoCal, this Thai place of Chef Lee is #1 for us because it is more than just Thai food. It is the taste of Thai-Malaysia-Southern China, particularly because of Chef skills in making unique sauces on each dishes.
We cannot find such unique tastes from her sauce elsewhere in SoCal. Asked the Chef, she confirmed her hand-made no-artificial flavor sauces took half of her time in the kitchen.
I won’t comment on other aspects of her food such as freshness, texture, presentation because Chef always ACED them all. No question. The uniqueness that she brings to LA Thai food scene is her dedication with those specialty sauces
When we taste her food our mind get to travel to the actual regions where such taste came from. It’s a great, warm reminder of our Southeast Asian root in the middle of the convenience of American lifestyle in a big city.

Really enjoyed this humble little self-owned Thai restaurant. Minimalistic space, with excellent food. The owner is so sweet – we’ll be back again. Don’t listen to the negative reviews (they seem to do with third party food delivery issues from a long time ago at a different location), and come check it out for yourself! Ordered the savory roti, the duck noodle, Pad Thai, and summer rolls.

What a great surprise for a late night meal. The service and food were excellent and not your run of the mill standard Thai food. Our price per person was high as we kept ordering additional appetizers and entrees because we just wanted more. The BBQ Chicken, Pepper Ribs, Crying Tiger beef were all awesome.

I ordered takeout and I was excited to try this place since the location is convenient, but I found the food very underwhelming and not at all what was advertised.
I ordered the braised chicken noodle soup and the soup I received came with slices of chicken (the photo did not show sliced chicken) and maybe fish balls (?) which were not in the description on the website. The only order adjustments I made from the photo was choosing thin noodles over flat noodles.
I also ordered egg rolls and only received three egg rolls when five were shown in the photo. Additionally I ordered pad thai and it was very dry as compared to most other pad thai I have had. Overall, I think the flavor profile was there. I was just disappointed that it was not what I ordered.
I’m not sure if I would have had a better experience had I dined in. However, I hope the food quality would be consistent both dine in and takeout.

Unfortunately this place is always a cluster. The food is tasty when you get it but they never answer the phone and online orders get canceled all the time because they can’t make the food. It’s insane, and I’m posting this in the hopes that the lady will not run a restaurant without proper help. It used to be a ghost kitchen and if she’s just working the wok by herself, which seems to be the case, you have confused and agree customers. Chili thai is good too 4 doors down and they don’t have a problem in the kitchen.
