The food was absolutely delicious. Flavor was on point. Oxtail was super tender, very fatty but still had a ton of meat, very flavorful, I was honestly shocked at how tender and delicious the jerk and curry chicken was.
Side dishes are a great complement and the service was fantastic. The woman working was very helpful and super friendly. I spent $40 dollars on my own food alone in order to try as much as I could and it was without a doubt money well spent. I literally ate everything and it was an undertaking.

Overall, the food was okay. The brown stew chicken was a bit too salty for my taste. The jerk patty was decent, and so was the rice and beans. The macaroni salad wasn’t anything special.

The food was incredible and very reasonably priced. There was limited indoor seating and no table service as most customers probably get their food to go. Authentic Jamaican food and live music.

When you walk in this establishment all cares & stress in life seem to roll off your back like water off a ducks tail.
The chef was patient, knowledgeable, and helpful with recommendations. He also answered any questions I had about the menu.

Good Afternoon this is one of my favorite spots the food is amazing I’ve never had a bad experience here ever. The service is amazing & owners are just amazing people. Rather you’re at the bar or dining in or even outside in the patio it’s an amazing vibe. Now the drinks are definitely good Rather a special or custom made. Sankofa never ever disappoints if you haven’t tried it please do. I don’t eat meat or seafood anymore but when I did they’re Oxtails, Curry Chicken, Jerk Chicken & Brown Stew. Chicken is soooo good & all the sides are good too. I’m a vegetarian now & I’m still able to enjoy the food because they have a vegetarian plate option. So I’m still able to enjoy their food, I definitely recommend Sankofa.

I’m not big on giving reviews buuuuut… this place is great!!! I am an island girl (Puerto Rico) and I love my Caribbean food. I’ve tried a couple of other places and the food was cooked well but lacked seasoning. When I tasted this chicken I had to share it with y’all the cooks here definitely seasoned this food till their ancestors said stop def one of the best spots around! And the lady in the front …I apologize for not getting your name love but you were great too. Thank you ☺️
