Beautiful vegan and gluten free omakase for $30. Delicious, but not enough food for a full meal. Service staff know their menu very well and were attentive and friendly. The seafood sushi rolls my family ate looked awesome and they said they tasted delicious. No fake crab in them, which is typical of lower quality sushi restaurants. We’ll be back!

There are so many fish options to choose from. Personally, I really love this cozy little restaurant with its warm atmosphere. They also have Sapporo draft beer, which is my favorite. The food is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. I especially love the fish bone chips ,they go perfectly with the beer!

If I can give this place a ZERO star, I would! My husband is Japanese, so we know sushi! We ordered fatty tuna sushi, it came black with a foul smell, didn’t look or taste like fatty tuna at all. The Japanese eel wasn’t from Japan but cheap Chinese frozen eel. The miso black cod was a tiny piece without any real miso taste to it.
This restaurant is cutting the corner in every possible way and they got 4.4 reviews on google?! The previous owner was Japanese, we didn’t see him or his son or his wife in the restaurant. This is not a good sushi place. Avoid it at all costs! The service was bad and my glass was empty throughout the meal and nobody bother to refill it until the meal was almost over. I wish I haven’t driven 45 minutes to this place. A terrible experience!!

We drove 45 min from Bellevue to Edmonds to go to my cousin’s favorite Japanese restaurant.

If my stomach was not queezy from the overly creamy seafood chowder from Salty’s (in Alki) I would definitely get the 14 piece omakase nigiri or sashimi. It was a good deal. I took a pic of his dinner. Bummer, I was had to eat lightly.

They also had outdoor dining pods (private clear tent bubbles.)

Good happy hour specials. Again, if my stomach was so queezy I’d be indulging in all the options.of fresh seafood.

Located in the quaint and charming downtown of the City of Edmonds. I’ll be back.

Great place to make your own omakase experience!
Dress warm as it gets a little cold in there.

Overall, very pleasant dinner. We ran a few minutes behind our reservation time and they didn’t seem to mind. The service and quality of sushi were excellent. Server was on top of refilling water and checking on us. We ordered tempura and we found the veggies to be on the harder side – not cooked quite long enough. Although we came during happy hour and took advantage of some of the items from the happy hour menu, my friend and I both thought the bill was quite high. I have been to many other sushi restaurants, just as good for a cheaper price. Nevertheless, service and food was excellent!

Went here for an early sit down New Year’s Eve dinner. Have had takeout from here several times and ate at the sushi bar one time. We sat at one of the small tables for two on this occasion.

Wait staff was super friendly and responsive. We did not feel rushed at all even though they were booked full for the evening.

We had the house sake, some edamame, three rolls and several pieces of nigiri. The edamame was okay didn’t taste as good as it has before, but that was the only item that was subpar. All of the sushi was delicious! And really that’s what we were there for.

My wife does not eat much so our bill was just over $100 + tip for 2 people and we still had a few pieces to take home for later. Overall a great start to our New Year’s Eve celebration, which ended with snoring around 9:30. 🙂

We will be back here again for sure!

I took my six-year-old for his very first time eating sushi, and both our first time here last Saturday evening for dinner. We made a reservation for 4:45pm.

Our table was ready (we got there just a little bit early) and they seated us right away.
The waitress gave my son some chopsticks with the trainer link on them

I ordered the lobster roll & the California roll. They were both delicious. We had a great time! I ordered strawberry and mango mochi for dessert.
It was also delicious .

Harry had a really great experience for his first time eating Sushi . He said he would like to come back again.

What a great find in Edmonds. We wanted to try a new Sushi restaurant and decided on SanKai. We loved it! Super service, fabulous sushi, and Banks, a very interesting, cordial and accomplished sushi chef, made our dining experience a memorable one!
