Notice I posted a picture of the surroundings & not the food! The scenery is the best part of this restaurant! I was expecting a great meal but was sadly disappointed. We paid $70 for seafood & should have went to Bojangles. The she crab soup was terrible. Scallops were fried to long, which made them hard. They weren’t drained on a paper towel, which made the plate grease & the scallops scoggy! Hush puppies were so dry I couldn’t talk without drinking water. I watched & listened to other waitresses read off the daily specials & our waitress never offered. Disappointing experience to say the least! Please don’t waste your time or money especially since this area is surrounded by great seafood & scenery!

Very disappointed, old restaurant on the water and it ended there…menu was disappointing watched food coming out of the kitchen looked like fast food, ordered Shrimp Alfredo was like paste I think the shrimp was frozen The hush puppies are like donuts and the dinner roll I didn’t even try. We ordered a shrimp burger with onion rings. It turned out to be deep-fried shrimp on a hamburger, roll and frozen anyways. Didn’t eat all that wasn’t cheap and good night recommend never going back.

The shrimp and grits were delicious and our server Penny was friendly. The back deck is dog friendly and they brought water for your dogs.

Bland. The food had no taste no seasoning. The hushpuppies were taste less. I order the seafood combination. The garlic shrimp came out cold. The crab cake a little over cooked. The fried flounder just didn’t taste like anything.

Well, this restaurant has been around since 1938. The original owners sold to the current owners sometime after 1975. Great location over looking intracoastal waterway. I remember dining here around 1970 and a few times later and waiting in line for our names or numbers to be called. I remember the shrimp and flounder being mouth watering good! Fast forward to today and the location is the same, the staff friendly, but the food was just OK, not mouth watering. I had the flounder and shrimp combo,, the shrimp didn’t seem to have the flavor I remember, the flounder was excellent. The hushpuppies a bit greasy. The Cole slaw was exactly as I remember. One of our group had a baked potato that was like warm barely melting the butter. You only get one side with a meal un most places today you receive two, so I had to pay extra for a side if slaw. Over the years many celebs have eaten here and there photos adorn the walls. It really is an iconic place to dine and visit , I just wish the food had been as I remembered. Oh and one other change there is now a surcharge if you pay with a credit card.

We loved our visit! Debbie was amazing, she had worked there for more than 35 years. Service was phenomenal, she was funny and lovely! My oysters were huge and delicious. The view from the back deck was awesome watching the boats come back to dock at sunset. This place is a treasure.

While visiting my son and his wife I had the opportunity to dine at the Sanitary. The view from our table was nice, and we enjoyed a basket of piping hot hush puppies while we waited for our meal to arrive. It took a bit of time to get our food, but it was definitely worth the wait.

Food was mediocre, at best. Nothing like the restaurant that I remember from years ago. Server was pleasant. Atmosphere depends on where you are seated, water front view is excellent. Disappointed in our dinner, especially since the cost of entrees was overpriced, based on overall quality. We will not patronize again anytime soon. Do not recommend.

Delightful beach dining experience! My partner had fond childhood memories of this restaurant so we decided to visit after a few decades away and it exceeded all expectations. Enjoyed the boat theme and cool maritime atmosphere. Our little nieces loved the kid friendly coloring that was offered. I thought my crab cake was perfectly seasoned. I must say that the pies are where this place shines though, so do not skip dessert!
