Celebrated my birthday with a family dinner at Sangria71 and it was one of my best meals! The octopus was so tender and moist and may have been the best I ever ate. Camarones Pil Pil, empanadas, and guacamole were yummy and the paella marinara was flavorful and moist. Came on a Tuesday where they have a paella and pitcher of sangria special. The waiter served ice-cream complimentary for the special celebration. Absolutely loved it and will be back!

Last Saturday, my family and I made a last‑minute decision to go out for dinner. While I was getting ready, I started looking for a new place to try, something with a bit of adventure, and we decided to give Sangría 71 in Williston Park, NY a chance. We made a last‑minute reservation and were very happy to find availability.
When we arrived, we were surprised to see a lobby so crowded that it was almost impossible to make our way to the podium to check in. With a bit of patience, some “excuse me’s,” and a few “sorry’s,” we managed to get through. For a moment, we felt unsure about choosing this place, but we soon realized the crowd was due to Christmas celebrations and several large groups dining there. The pleasant smell of the food encouraged us to wait, and to our surprise, they called our name and seated us in less than 10 minutes.
Our server, Luis, who had a noticeable Spanish accent, greeted us warmly and quickly brought us delicious, warm, crispy artisan bread with olives in an infusion of herbs, garlic, and olive oil.
Drinks:
We ordered a bottle of The Spanish Quarter Cabernet–Tempranillo, which we enjoyed very much.
Appetizers:
We ordered grilled calamari, baked oysters (the star of the night), a charcuterie board, and fresh Blue Point oysters. The oysters were generously sized with a pleasant sweet flavor. Everything else was well-balanced and flavorful.
Main courses:
My wife and I ordered the Valencian paella, which had a very pronounced flavor and rice with excellent consistency. Personally, I think a bit more moisture in the seafood and slightly less salt would have made it perfect.
My kids ordered the “mar y mar” and the churrasco for two. All portions were generous and the prices reasonable.
Because of the large portions, my wife and I couldn’t order dessert, but my kids chose the churros and the lava cake, both of which they approved of.
As for the service, Luis was friendly, timed everything well, and had a great sense of humor. Bravo, Luis!

The lunch special deal is a steal for only $15 you can get the seafood pot with saffron rice. And for $6 more, you can add soup and a cup of sangria. The seafood pot had scallops, clams, and mussels in garlic broth, and the saffron rice was perfect accompaniment. Rice was cooked perfectly. The sangria was refreshing and full of fruit totally worth it.

What really makes this place stand out though are the servers. They are top tier: super attentive, constantly checking in, and really make you feel taken care of. Between the amazing food, great lunch special deal, and outstanding service, this is a fantastic spot for lunch. Highly recommend!

First time at the restaurant. We saw
their paella pan on social media and decided to give it a try. The seafood paella was very good. The shrimp was especially fresh and tasty. Ordered the chocolate lava cake which was also excellent. Our server Luis was very friendly and attentive as well as other staff members. Will come back again

First time here. Love the food and service. Paella, fish, lamb chops. Everything was good including the desert.
Updated- keep coming back couple more times, still good as usual.

Food wasn’t what we hoped it would be. Order a bunch of tapas and nothing was memorable
1.Bacon wrapped scallops were over cooked.
2. Cod fritters were a bland.
3. Fresh Oysters were dry, the natural brine was not presented on the shell which was very disappointing.
4. Steak Empanadas – filling was good, wanted it to be more bold
5. Stuffed mushrooms – mushrooms were nice and juicy but the shrimp stuffing was overcooked

This is my families favorite dinner spot. The dishes here are always solid and consistent. They are full of flavor and absolutely delicious.

What makes this place even more special is the staff. The staff here is super friendly and attentive. We usually come on Wednesdays for happy hour and ladies night which ends at closing.

Our waiter is usually Sebastian, and let me tell you he is the most attentive and kind gentleman. He’s always willing to answer any questions and makes suggestions. We love coming here when he’s around. He has share that Friday is Latin night and they have music which sounds like so much fun! We have been coming here consistently for months and we are always pleased.

We were in the mood for Tapas & wine. Sangria 71 was a pleasant surprise.

Walking in the main entrance felt very homey. This restaurant is separated into 3 sections. We decided to sit in the bar area for the romance swaying through the dimly lit room.

We were offered the happy hour menu in addition to the dinner menu. I’m overjoyed since the happy menu really reflects what it should be.

Sunday happy hour is 2 pm to closing .

The blue point oysters were as good as it gets. The dish emanating immense flavor was the chick peas with spinach. The paella for 2 is sufficient for 3 actually.

We truly enjoyed the meal and look forward to returning again!

Delicious Spanish food! The tapas portion is bigger than I expected, but good value for the price. Love the octopus! Will come back for the paella festival!
Follow up since my last review: the lunch deal was pretty good in price. Also surprised that this place offered lunch special during Saturday. Had paella lunch. The Sangria was strong.
