I absolutely loved it!!!!! Went with my gf’s we had a time. Got there an hour after the island opened and left when the crew left. It’s a must. Quiet, intimate, music, food, drinks flowing. I have no complaints. Secluded beach and bar all to yourself!!!!! Service was great, staff friendly and helpful!!!What more you want?!!! I went around Mother’s Day weekend and would do it again!!!! If you get there when the staff gets there yes you have to wait for food to be cooked it’s fresh. So take drink, take a dip in the water and relax!!! I’m so happy I got to experience this!!!!

The food was very mediocre, and it took us 3 hours to get it. The service sucks, and I had to go up to the bar myself to get drinks. Unless you like waiting 3 hours, please don’t come here because we had, and everyone around me took 3 hours for food. I would give the service zero stars.

We just spent the day at Sandy Island and it was wonderful. The food, the laid back atmosphere, the drinks, the ride over. Everything was exceptional. A little pricey but no more than anywhere else in a touristy area. We paid $265 but that included beach chair rental and $75 worth of cocktails.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. DO NOT COME HERE. Wow…I realize I’m just echoing what so many others have said, but…I still have to say what needs to be said: Do not go to this ‘restaurant!’ Our family went to the Prickly Pear last year and had an amazing experience. We thought we would try something different and went to Sandy Island this year. Big awful expensive mistake. We arrived and were immediately seated by Dion…lots of chit chat, lots of smiles, lots of ‘you’re my special guests’ talk. Our orders are quickly taken…then we wait…and wait…and wait…and wait. In the meantime, three different tables have come and gone…and even our BOAT CREW has walked into the restaurant’s kitchen and completely eaten their lunch before our appetizers arrive. Wait, what?! So we wait…and wait. 45 minutes later, our appetizers arrive…coconut shrimp and calamari. Really? 45 minutes? No one has asked if we need a drink refill, more napkins, or anything. As others have mentioned, the bathrooms are unsanitary and inoperable. Basically an outhouse. And we wait…and we wait…over an hour later the restaurant is now empty and we’re served our food. To say that it was very poor quality would be an understatement. Lobster was barely lobster…inedibly prepared and completely dehydrated. The ‘salad’ was basically an avocado with dressing. Etc. etc. You get my drift here…really just terrible across the board. And wait…where’s Dion?! Our best friend Dion who was going to take care of us? He disappeared after the first 30 minutes and only reappeared on his cell phone every once in a while. Not to mention everyone who worked there was essentially on their cell phones the entire time. We asked for the bill multiple times…then had to walk around and ask the same person for the bill…only to have him ask, ‘oh, are you ready?’ Seriously? You’re on a one square mile island and we’re the only people here. How are you too busy to notice we’ve been here for almost 2 hours and have spent 8 minutes of that time eating? Then, of course, there is the sticker shock of the bill. You know you’re going to get surge pricing for everything because you’re in the middle of nowhere and you have no other options. But this was fantasy billing at its worst. Just ignore whatever is listed on the menu because they’re going to charge you whatever they want. I asked if the 15% service charge was already added to the bill and he answered, ‘yes…you don’t have to leave a tip.’ Leave a tip? You’ve basically already added 30% to the entire bill. Unbelievable. Long story short (too late, I know)…AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! DO NOT COME HERE!

Kinda amazing to land on this tiny dot of an island and have such great food. The beach is perfect. Spend an hour or two or the day!

I want to begin by saying this was the absolute best day of our trip. We can to give a massive thanks to Roger and his coworkers for taking care of us all day and making our experience unforgettable. Our trip wouldn’t have been the same without this day.
We are a group of 7 females who traveled from the US for a bachelorette trip and rented a boat to Anguilla for the day. We were personally recommended to the Sand Bar! We entered the island around 12, enjoyed the most wonderful lunch, drank and laid in the sun until 4. We spent the entire day with the bartender the entire day with the bartender Roger and had so much fun. When we went to ask for our itemized receipt, it took 40 minutes to receive one and there was no rhyme or reason to the amount, as it only stayed food and zero alcohol. Upon receiving one, the manager let us know he would only be taking cash for an $1,000 bill despite taking cards from every party before us and that the website said we could use card. He claimed his machine was down due to the weather. He then shared he wouldn’t anccept our card because the day before he had a large party that claimed fraud on the bill after paying. Despite understanding his frustrating for a past issue, that is not our fault. We expressed that we did not have that much in cash but could charge our card perfectly fine. He got in our face, began swearing, and truly thought he could belittle us as women. He even went so far ask to ask us to write down our government names AND credit card information and “he would charge us when he got home.” When we expressed we would not be doing that, he fought with us for an hour. He continues to swear in our face, tell us we ruined his day, etc. The bartenders were standing up for us an felt extremely sorry that this was the end result of our day. AFTER ALL OF THIS, he ran the card no problem.
While Roger and his coworkers were great, we would strongly advise women to be careful entering this beach alone as the manager belittles women, tries to take advantage and doesn’t care what we have to say to stand up for ourselves. This is not the way to handle the situation and if cash was the only way of payment, the manager should have expressed this upon arrival that their policy changed.

A worthy splurge and a perfect and unique way to spend the day. I can’t say enough about the great group of staff that were as friendly and hospitable as could be. Each took great care of us and were always ensuring we had everything we needed. A beautiful place.

The staff do everything to ignore you and keep you forever waiting.
The check was one big hoax and they try to rip you of as much as the can.
The music is so loud that blood came out of my ears.
Really sorry we went to this place on a perfect day.
