I had a confirmed 9:00 AM pickup, and my experience here was a total disaster. I arrived at 9:15 AM to give the owner time to settle in, but the doors were locked and no one was there.
When I finally reached him by phone, he was incredibly dismissive. He refused to give me an ETA, laughed, and told me, “I’m getting breakfast, I didn’t even look at my computer this morning.” After I pressed for a timeline so I could make a 10:00 AM meeting, he hung up on me.
The lack of honesty was the worst part:
• The Lie: After waiting 40 minutes, a friend called him and he claimed to be 7 minutes away, despite actually being in Columbia (over an hour away).
• The Cover-up: He called me later, butchered my name, and tried to blame the “wait” on his son, claiming he told his son not to come in. It was clearly the same man I had been speaking with the entire time.
His lack of professionalism almost ruined my schedule. Luckily, I went down the street to Jay Bird U-Haul, where they were professional, prompt, and got me a truck immediately. Do yourself a favor and go to Jay Bird instead—don’t waste your time here.
