Sandollar Restaurant was an excellent experience from start to finish. We arrived as a large group of 15 people without a reservation, and they were incredibly accommodating and organized, which we truly appreciated.

The service was outstanding. The staff and hosts were attentive, friendly, and made sure everyone in our group was taken care of without any delays. Considering the size of our party, everything ran smoothly and professionally.

The food was great, well prepared, and consistently good across the table. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and the portions and quality definitely met expectations.

The restaurant has a full bar, a beautiful outdoor seating area, and a water view that really adds to the overall atmosphere. Whether you’re sitting inside or outside, the setting is relaxed and enjoyable, perfect for groups, families, or a casual meal by the water.

Great food, excellent service, and a fantastic location. Highly recommended, especially if you’re dining with a large group.

Our waitress Katie was amazing for such a busy Valentine’s evening. So kind and friendly while being slammed. Not to mention the front end for getting us a table inside. Food was great and cooked to perfection. Thank you Katie and staff.

We pass this restaurant all the time while out on the water and finally decided to give it a try. When we arrived, the host was friendly and asked if we preferred inside or outside seating. We chose outside, and he told us the bar area was the only option—despite several empty tables. He then said, “Or you can sit down there,” so we opted for a regular table instead.

After being seated, we waited about 15 minutes with no greeting from any server. My husband went inside to let someone know, and at that point we decided we would just move inside instead. Within a few moments of relocating, a waitress came over and took our drink order.

When she returned, we ordered appetizers, and I ordered my entrée. She closed her book right away, and my husband had to tell her those items were just appetizers since he hadn’t ordered yet.

I received my Caesar side salad first, and it definitely wasn’t the freshest. Our appetizers—blackened grouper bites and crab cakes—came out next, but no plates were provided. Those were the best items we ate. Immediately after that, our entrées arrived. I ordered the bourbon salmon with a sweet potato and a side salad, but instead of the sweet potato I received carrots. My husband ordered the platter for one with mac and cheese and fries.

Throughout the meal, the server came by maybe twice. We ended up asking a busser for a cocktail because the bottle the waitress gave us was empty. She said she would go look for more and never returned. Toward the end, I had to flag down our server—who was chatting with another server just a few feet away—to request the check.

After spending $108, I can’t say we’d recommend this place. The service was disappointing, the food was trash, and the overall experience just wasn’t worth it.

Started with a great motorcycle ride and ended up at the Sand dollar restaurant. Michelle greeted us with enthusiasm and with the biggest smile. We sat outside because the weather was AMAZING. Had the platter for two with blackened Grouper, fried shrimp, okra and mashed potatoes. Had a SANTA Martini which tasted flippin incredible. Overall a great afternoon.

First time here, definitely won’t be our last. Our waitress Leona was fabulous. She was very attentive to us and kept our sweet tea glasses full. We started off with Conch fritters which were perfectly cooked and loaded with conch. I’m from Key West and I can say these conch fritters brought me a taste of home. My wife had the Snow crab legs and I went with Fried shrimp accompanied by coleslaw, lime rice, and hush-puppies. The shrimp is lightly breaded and perfectly seasoned complimenting the natural shrimp flavor. As we finished up we ordered more Conch fritters for the house, they were that good…
10/23/25 UPDATE: Unfortunately they no longer have Conch Fritters on the menu, I asked why and I was told they had a new chef…

One of my favorite places to be outdoors and on the water. Britney was so friendly and happy from the get go &&& she let us know the drink specials immediately. Love this gem of a place outside the city. The fried gator tail is one of our favorite snacks!

Despite the hour and a half wait due to extenuating circumstances, i cannot help but give this place 5 stars. The attention from the front end reception under pressure from other clients was phenomenal and they were really nice. Tyler, our waiter, is the best by far out of everyone that’s served us before (everyone is really good, but Tyler is Tyler). If you want a slice of Jacksonville seafood with a good view towards the water, this is your go to place. Even their chicken Alfredo is good (just finished eating it as I am writing this). Do try their grouper bites too as those are the reason i keep coming back (aside from the excellent service of course). If you come on a weekend, give yourself at least an hour knowing you might wait some time (they get very busy during the weekends). The wait is well worth it.

The kitchen was VERY slow despite the few people eating at that time. Our waitress apologized multiple times so one can only assume it was not her fault it took a long time.
The cashew grouper was moist, the portion size was generous, and the hush puppies tasty.
The blackened mahi fish tacos were delicious and again the portion size was generous.

The rest of us had shrimp we enjoyed.

Allow for extra time if you have children as the service was very slow. It appeared that there were too few servers despite the few people there at the time.

Returned here 12/13/2025. Wish I had gone elsewhere!

The shrimp on the shrimp and grits were good. The grits were like paste. I don’t believe I have ever eaten worse grits than here.

This time the grouper tasted like it was frozen and reheated. It was hard, not fresh tasting.

The view was the best thing offered this day. Wish I had gone elsewhere for the food. So disappointed. Will not return.
