San Sabino in New York gets a solid 4 out of 5 from me. The food was tasty and fresh and compared to their sister restaurant is definitely more fish forward. I made a point to try some of their most popular dishes. The lobster ravioli was flavorful and well executed. The cheese appetizer was balanced and nicely presented, though I would probably pass on it next time. The star of the night was the spicy tuna appetizer, which really stood out in both flavor and texture. The decor is beautiful and creates a great atmosphere, and the service was friendly throughout the meal. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.

It was my first time at San Sabino and I am happy to say I was able to get a seat at the bar. I work in the neighborhood and every time I pass by it’s always busy. I was able to go during the day mid-week and thoroughly enjoyed my alone time at the bar. The food was delicious and the environment was very welcoming. I enjoyed the Chicken with broccolini and requested some bread to dip into this outrageous mustard sauce that the chicken was marinated in. Andrea took care of me at bar, super friendly and attentive. While I enjoyed my meal, there were a few other solo guests and we all ended chatting about our meals. Perfect NYC dinning experience.

San Sabino is a lovely spot overall. The food was good and clearly seafood-focused, making it a great choice for seafood lovers. If someone in your party isn’t into seafood, options are quite limited and there wasn’t much creativity or flexibility in offering an alternative.

The atmosphere is a real highlight — stylish, warm, and very enjoyable. Service was friendly and attentive, though we were served by a few different people who asked us the same questions, which slightly disrupted the flow.

Overall, a nice experience with great ambiance and solid food. I’d recommend it, especially if you enjoy seafood.

San Sabino has a great atmosphere and our server was very kind. My wife loved the food and I thought it was good but not excellent. We started with the cheesy fritelle which were a unique cheese bread that I had never had before. I didn’t love the orange blossom and honey, but still thought it was enjoyable. The spicy tuna arancini was the highlight of the meal for me. The Don Angie meatballs were also excellent and a highlight. For the pasta, we got the pepperoni carbonara and I thought it was just OK. I would likely order a different main entree next time. Overall, I was glad to have tried this restaurant but was expecting a little bit more for the price tag.

San Sabino is a fantastic spot for pasta enthusiasts. It’s a cozy restaurant with only a few tables, but they offer an extensive bar seating area. They boast a variety of great appetizers and take pride in their pasta and seafood dishes. However, their steak is also exceptionally well-seasoned and stands out on their small menu. One dish worth mentioning is their lobster pasta—just a heads up, the portion is quite small. I recommend ordering one of their appetizers as well. The service is excellent; our server was incredibly kind and attentive.

I had lunch here on Friday and got seated outside, which was really nice and relaxing. The atmosphere was chilled and the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered four dishes, one dessert, and a bottle of chilled red wine. Everything was great, but the Lobster Triangoli was phenomenal! Definitely coming back.

For a special occasion, San Sabino is perfect! We went for my fiancé’s birthday in early November and it was divine. The attention to detail in each dish and beverage was astounding. We tried the cheesy frittelle, Pasta alle vongole, grilled trout piccata and Belmont chicken savoy – all were absolutely incredible! Tasty, full of flavor and just enough to have you wanting more. I wish I could fit seconds! The desserts, a pineapple sorbetto and the gelato Viennese were balanced and sweet. The crunchy elements were contrasted well to the softness of the gelato and sorbetto. It’s absolutely worth the hype and setting an alarm at 9am to secure the table! From the people behind Don Angie, you cannot go wrong!

This place is phenomenal on every level. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere is perfect for a dinner date night. The vibe is lively but not loud. We sat at the bar and the bartenders are very friendly, welcoming, and had great recommendations for first timers.

If you love martinis, get Scottie’s Martini. It is a garlic bread infused vodka with a spicy brine and giant stuffed olives. I was skeptical at first, but I love a dirty martini. It is a contender for the best martini I’ve ever had. As for food, you honestly cannot go wrong here. Everything was delicious. Their portions are a little small, so they recommend getting 2-3 dishes per person. This may feel like a lot of food, but we felt like it was the perfect amount of food.

I can see why this place is hard to reserve because it lives up to the hype. Definitely a place I would bring visitors and family for a great meal in the West Village.
