I forgot to snap all the pictures. I had a wonderful experience with San Marcos Bbq this past weekend for my brother’s graduation party ! Mandy was very responsive. All the food was ready to go when I picked it up the day of the party.

Ordered sausage and brisket with two sides. Everything was good except brisket was very greasy. Not just one section, the whole meat was like chewing fat. Won’t return. Pay $16 for greasy brisket not cool

Ordered drive through and I got a turkey taco and it was so good!! Their Mac and cheese is very different from traditional BBQ Mac and cheese so I’m not sure if everyone would like it but for me it was really good!

I had a 2 meat plate, brisket and sausage. Both were excellent! I like moist brisket and this was up there with the top 10 in Central Texas. I had jalapeno and cheese sausage. I like the way they make their sausage, ground a little coarse and not too tight in the casing. Delicious

Second location along IH35 in San Marcos. Great tasting bbq brisket, sausage, smoked chicken and turkey. Sides are what you would expect at a bbq restaurant but try the braised cabbage with bits of their sausage mixed in. Sausage comes in regular or with smoked Gouda mixed in. They make their sausage in house. Either locations are on my gotta eat at bbq restaurant when shopping at the San Marcos Outlets. Sorry no pictures, gone before I remembered to take photos, but trust me it’s good! Only drawback, no drive thrus.

I understand why this was rated the best BBQ in San Marcos. Got the Rudy sampler and it all was very good! The brisket was done to perfection, the sausage and turkey were also very good. My only complaint was with the ribs, great flavor but they were very tough. Definitely a great stop!

Stopped in for the first time after reading others’ reviews for this restaurant. Had brisket, pork ribs, sausage, braised cabbage, macaroni and cheese, and buttermilk pie, so we got a good sampling of the menu. I will start with the good. The service was extremely friendly, and staff offered recommendations or endorsements of various menu items. The brisket was flavorful and on the fatty side, which I like—makes it juicier. The mac-n-cheese was quite creamy and delicious. I am a cabbage fan, and their offering was good if not great. They use sausage in the cabbage instead of the standard pork or bacon, which was good if somewhat less flavorful. On the not-as-good side, the sausage, which they make in house, was just average. The pork ribs were a little bit dried out, necessitating sauce, which I normally don’t use. The buttermilk pie was undercooked—it should have a little golden brown on the surface, and the crust needed another ten minutes in the oven. The setting is very underwhelming, with little decor other than a lcd television on the wall. Overall, I would eat there again, but I would not put it at the top of my list for bbq in San Marcos (It should be noted that others disagree, voting SM BBQ the best q in San Marcos in 2020, so I may just be really picky.).
