Stopped by at the last minute & was able to be seated immediately. Our waiterJesse was very knowledgeable as to what was gluten free. I had the grouper with shrimp & crab. Delicious! The grouper is caught fresh in Charlotte Harbour. Jesse was very attentive to our drinks and clearing empty plates. Highly recommend.

Let’s start with the mussels appetizer in garlic butter broth ! Absolutely amazing! We also had some focaccia bread with olive oil which was freshly made and soft. Who doesn’t love focaccia! The waitress was very attentive and the ambience was so nice and relaxing. I had the braised short rib with risotto, the risotto was creamy and delicious the plate was a very healthy portion, enough for 2! The short rib was extremely tender and the rue was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. We also had the butternut squash ravioli with sage butter sauce and oh my goodness the balance of flavor and subtle tones of flavor profiles were no less than perfect. I also had a glass of Chianti that mellowed the short rib nicely. It was a perfectly paired match with a perfectly paired night out and a new foodie spot. Thank you San Marco !

I ordered the mussels for happy hour which came some lovely bread and oil. I had asked my server as well as the bartender if the dish came with pasta. The bartender referred me to my server since she was not sure, so my server checked and said it did indeed come with pasta. All great. Then the mussels arrived but had no pasta so I asked the server and she was still unsure as to why they came without the pasta but offered to add a side of pasta. She then returned with a side of plain pasta that I had to mix into the dish myself. And then at the end I was charged 9 dollars for a side of plain pasta that was supposedly come with my dish in the first place. I would’ve appreciated her at least telling me that she charged me and it did not come with my dish because I would’ve surely ordered something else. I didn’t even end up eating the dish after the pasta arrived because it got watered down with the plain pasta. Both the bartender and manager were arguing with me as to why they won’t take it off the bill. It wasn’t about the money… it was about communicating and not being rude. They finally took it off the bill after what felt like pulling teeth… I’ve worked in the restaurant business my entire life and would never handle this situation the way it was handled here. It’s a shame because food was not bad.

This restaurant never fails to impress me , not only do the owners and staff make you feel welcome and like you are family , but their food is incomparable . The taste is impeccable and I wish I could eat here every night if it was closer to me. 5/5 and i will continue coming anytime i am in town

Santa Marco is outstanding! The food is delicious, staff are wonderful- perfect place for lunch, dinner, family meals or a fun night or with friends! The owner has a heart of gold, giving back the community on a consistent basis. Highly recommend going to San Marco, I would rate 10 out of 5 ⭐️

Had a lovely dinner on a Monday night. Sat inside and they had happy hour prices until seven. They gave us focaccia and olive oil when we sat down. I ordered the clams with spaghetti and the shrimp with gnocchi and vodka sauce. The spaghetti with clams had too much chili pepper for me. It was pretty spicy. But the gnocchi with shrimp and vodka sauce was absolutely delicious. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend the restaurant and I would definitely eat here again, but I would order something different.

The chicken scallopini that two of our group had tasted mostly of butter but was otherwise tasteless, and they asked for extra lemons to squeeze into the sauce, but when we were finished and the server asked us if we wanted the manager, we said no. I was never asked about my short rib ragu with rigatoni, but it too was basically tasteless. The meat tasted like it had been warmed up from the frig, not simmered in sauce. The manager came over, looking angry and said she would take the scallopinis off our bill, and again didn’t even ask me about my meal, but dismissed me saying “she couldn’t do anything, just because I didn’t like the sauce” when I hadn’t even said anything about the sauce or my meal. Our original intent was to give constructive feedback, not get money taken off the bill, but we left unhappy about the whole situation. The server was fine. The atmosphere was good. The guitar player was good. But the food was so-so , and the manager has no people skills.

We made reservations here based on information from friends. Upon arrival we were greeted by the rudest person I have ever met in a restaurant venue. Once we were seated, and waited 15 minutes, I had to get up and inform the staff that we were waiting to be served. After that, our service was good. 3 of our meals were good, one was not.
When we had settled our bill, I asked the waitress who the person was that greeted us, as I wanted to let the owner/manager know. To our surprise, the rude greeter WAS THE OWNER. There are lots of other options in downtown Venice, with better food and owners that appreciate their prospective customers.

After coming here for three years, we were sitting at dinner last night and thinking why haven’t we left a review? And my husband said because we have nothing to complain about.
Seriously, the best atmosphere with the sweetest servers! We enjoy our time here every time. Whether with a newborn or just the two of us, everyone is so accommodating.
