Social Profile:

San Laurel, from Michelin-starred chef José Andrés at the Conrad Los Angeles, builds a culinary bridge between the Iberian Peninsula and Southern California. Using the freshest sustainable produce from local farmers’ markets in Los Angeles, our cuisine marries bold, beautiful Spanish flavors with the bounty of the Golden State. Named for the aromatic bay laurel, itself a transplant from the Mediterranean to coastal California, San Laurel’s inspiration stretches from Spain to the glimmering shores of the Pacific.

When you have a great location like across from the best concert hall in the US and perhaps the world, you need to bring it. Chef Andres does just that 10 stories up in the Conrad Hotel.

You think you get every dish when you read it on the menu, or at least most, but then when you get it and eat it it’s a whole different thing.

Ever wondered what impeccably fried chicken would taste like with a furikake buttermilk sauce? Wonder no more! It’s amazing.

How about the best lox on a piece of toast you’ve ever had? Sounds easy and simple but here it’s a different level.

Really amazing food, drinks, service and view. It really is a destination that shouldn’t be missed if you’re visiting downtown LA.

The view is absolutely amazing and the food did not disappoint. The octopus was perfectly cooked and very tender, the baby potatoes were delicious, and the honey oat latte was surprisingly good and well balanced. We were originally there for brunch, but it ended at 11:30am, so we ordered from the lunch menu instead and still had a great experience. The service was very attentive without feeling intrusive, and I would definitely come back to try the brunch menu next time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆ (4/5)

We recently visited San Laurel at Conrad Los Angeles, and it was a memorable experience. The restaurant offers a unique and refined menu, even for just appetizers and drinks, which is what we had since we had another food venue planned afterward. Despite only ordering light bites, everything we tried was flavorful and beautifully presented.

The real standout, however, is the breathtaking view overlooking the Disney Concert Hall—absolutely stunning, especially as the sun sets. The contemporary yet luxurious interior design adds to the ambiance, making it feel upscale without being stuffy.

The staff were all incredibly friendly and professional, though it did feel a bit short-staffed during our visit, likely due to how busy it was. That said, service was still attentive and we never felt forgotten.

We parked with valet, and the $15 fee felt reasonable for downtown LA. Our check came out just over $200 for three cocktails and three appetizers, which is on the higher side, but the overall experience made it worthwhile—from the views to the vibe to the quality of food and drinks.

Definitely a spot I’d recommend for special occasions or a classy night out in the city.

Located on the 10th floor of the Conrad Hotel, San Laurel by Jose Andres draws on Spanish roots while embracing California seasonality. Executive Sous, Jeff Chan commands a capable and strong culinary team that serves up delicious Mediterranean inspired dishes. Favorites include the crudo starter with fresh hiramasa, scallops in delicious buttermilk sauce, a perfectly grilled and buttery lubina, oiley and crunchy pan de cristal, and the standout pistcahio ice cream cake.

The restaurant offers sweeping views of the City including the nearby Walt Disney Concert Hall and the space is airy and upscale featuring modern materials, a polished central bar and an outdoor terrace space that extends into the restaurant (when weather permits).

The $50 pre fixe for lunch is a standout deal and San Laurel is easily one of the best restaurants in the area. Perfect for a special occasion, pre-concert dinner, hotel treat or business lunch, San Laurel offers an excellent dining experience!

An excellent dinning experience worthy of recognition. First and foremost, the ambiance at Frank Gehry designed Conrad hotel is modern, yet laid back, open and warm. It is a magnificent invitation to what follows next which can only be described as intentional at every touchpoint. The staff is highly knowledgeable about the food and drink menu, the special, and take great care ensuring what you’re about to order is to your liking by asking questions and guiding you. The tapas are masterfully designed, look like a work of art, culinary art to be exact, and are like symphony with every note intentionally and thoughtfully placed exactly where it should be. If you haven’t tried this restaurant, I highly recommend trying it for yourself. You can thank me later for an elevated fine dining experience that’s hard to find elsewhere in LA.

My wife and I had our first visit to San Laurel on Saturday night, August 23, and it was an exceptional experience!

From the moment we arrived, Lisa, our host, made us feel welcome, and our server Johnny provided outstanding service—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable.

We ordered the Scallops, Sea Bass, and Gambas, and every dish was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. The quality of the food and the care in presentation truly stood out.

We are so impressed with both the food and service and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

San Laurel is such a special dining experience inside Conrad Los Angeles. The space itself is beautifully designed with a modern yet warm aesthetic that perfectly matches the creative spirit of downtown LA. The moment you walk in, you can feel that this isn’t just a typical hotel restaurant. It has a unique identity of its own, with thoughtful touches everywhere from the lighting to the textures and layout. It’s elegant without feeling too formal, and stylish without trying too hard.

I came here for breakfast and ended up having one of the best meals during my time in LA. The steak was beautifully cooked and seasoned, super tender with a nice sear on the outside. The omelette was fluffy and rich, made with care and just the right balance of cheese and herbs. I also had a fresh salad that was so simple but crisp and flavorful. Everything was plated with a lot of attention to detail.

What really stood out for me was the yuzu coffee. It was such a fun and refreshing twist on a morning drink. The citrusy notes gave it a brightness that paired really well with the savory dishes and made the whole meal feel unique and memorable.

The service was equally excellent. The team was attentive and kind without being too present, and everything flowed really smoothly. It was a calm and refined way to start the day, especially in such a beautiful setting overlooking Grand Avenue.

Whether you’re staying at Conrad LA or just passing through downtown, San Laurel is worth visiting. It’s a place where the food, service, and design all come together so effortlessly. I’m already thinking about going back to try it for dinner next time.

Service & Food was good. Ordered course which was $150 per person & get to try little bit of pretty much everything on their menu. I felt it was not that satisfactory for a price… I think we should have ordered an individual menu. Besides that, Food & Atmosphere, and service was good, but felt over priced.

I wanna keep this short and simple. We enjoyed all of our food. Our service was lacking though. Our server did not have fine dining experience. Our plates and empty drinks sat on the table for 30 mins each time. We each had to remind our server of our drinks and apps that were forgotten. I will say it was beautiful restaurant. Next time I’d sit at the bar if I was on a date and wasn’t on a time crunch.

We had a wonderful dining experience at San Laurel almost perfect! The menu is creative and well-curated, with a standout mix of flavors that are both bold and beautifully balanced. Each dish felt thoughtfully composed, and we appreciated the culinary artistry. We ordered the Duck, scallops and the not so ordinary”mac & cheese”

The service was attentive and professional throughout the evening. Unfortunately, the night took a turn near the end when a fire alarm went off and blared for about 10 minutes. It disrupted the atmosphere completely, and like several other guests, we ended up leaving before finishing the service. It was a disappointing end to an otherwise excellent night.

Still, we’d absolutely recommend San Laurel for its food and service, hopefully with no unexpected interruptions next time.
