We had our breakfast here as we were already staying at the San Juan Inn. The environment, the set up, the ambience inside and the backdrop is beautiful. You can take one of the window seats and just enjoy the awesome view.
Coming to the food, we opted for a the very basics and they were all good. Nothing extra to add. I believe they don’t serve the Navajo Taco during breakfast hours as it wasn’t on the menu they shared with me or else I would have loved to try that. Never mind, overall it was a positive experience and definitely the stay at San Juan Inn was extremely memorable.

Special mention to the lady at the cafe counter – she was great.

I stopped by for lunch and had my pup with me. They had some picnic tables outside and we got to enjoy the beef stew and fry bread. Pupper even got a little bonus and our server Garrett was very nice and brought her a bowl of water too.

I stopped here for lunch on my way to Colorado. I had the Navajo Taco, which was gigantic. It definitely did not taste like the “tacos” I’m used to, but it was nice to try something different for me but local to the area. The young gentleman who was waiting tables that day was honestly the highlight of this establishment. He was very friendly, attentive, and quirky in a charming way.

Very disappointed with this place. My boyfriend and I came for breakfast, and it was a total letdown. The food arrived cold, and everything on my plate tasted old and stale — completely inedible. The coffee was also cold, and to make things worse, our server never checked in with us, didn’t offer a refill, and didn’t even ask why I barely touched my food. This level of service is unacceptable. Management, please train your staff on how to properly prepare food and take care of your guests. We won’t be coming back.

We had great food and amazing service. The café is right along the San Juan River, with some great views. The Navajo burger is incredible, I highly recommend it.

Hey, you’re in the middle of the dessert and nothing around for many miles. Was it gourmet? No. Was it decent? Yes. Waiter was awesome, the place a bit dated and quirky, but it was clean and the food was okay.

It’s worth the stop

I had a late lunch here on October 14, 2024. Had the Navajo Taco and it was excellent. Very good, and effervescent, waiter. He made sure that I had everything I needed.
Restaurant interior was ‘unique’ but pretty clean (especially being in the desert with blowing wind). Not huge amounts of parking, though.

The beef stew only has 3 small pieces of beef in it, kinda disappointed. But the trout was great, fresh and well cooked
