I was excited to finally try here due to the good reviews. I’m unsure if it was an off night or what. The only seasoning that seemed to be in my burrito was a whole bay leaf. Otherwise, it tasted like straight unseasoned ground beef. The churros were doughy, but I was going welcome any flavor I could get at that point. Probably won’t be someplace we return to.

We love the Windermere location at San Jose’s!! The waiters are always amazing and treat us like family every time we are in there! This photo is from our most recent visit, I ordered the fajita nachos with chicken and steak and they were so so good!! Definitely check this place out! Also I love their frozen margaritas

Gotta hand it to Joe & Hugo. By far the best San Jose’s I’ve been to. I came in for the first time last week & have been back almost everyday since. The food is always fresh and the service is outstanding. Joe served my table last night and I could not be more pleased with how he treated us. 10/10 restaurant.

Very nice authentic Mexican spot right in the lakeside village shopping center. Big favorites are all tacos, fajitas, shrimp entrees, burritos, and guacamole appetizer. The fried ice cream is tasty for desert! They also have a good happy hour!! The margs are yumm!!

Service: The host, as we entered, was obviously on his phone so was startled when we walked in. Our server was phenomenal. She’s probably the only reason we’d consider ever coming back.
Setting: The restaurant is very nicely decorated and was clean. Music is Spanish oriented which is fitting.
Food: Wow, WORST Mexican food we’ve ever had. No flavor. That’s true w the protein or carb. Soggy as well.
Prove: 19.50 for nachos and 18 for 3 flour tacos. YIKES!

We’re gluten free. When we ask the hostess if they had a gluten-free menu or if the regular menu was marked, she said no and she didn’t think anything was gluten-free cuz they use the same grill. Which I appreciate the honesty, but I’m not sure if she’s accurate. Mexican food isn’t all prepared on a grill and y’all might learn something about gluten and gluten free food preparation. That would be great. Meanwhile we left, and probably won’t come back unless we know something has changed. Too bad.

We have been to other San Jose locations and they were good. This visit was terrible. I went for lunch with my daughter. I ordered a watermelon agua fresca. It was spoiled. Smelled bad, and burned my mouth when I drank it. I told our server 3 times that they should check it in the back. She just said “okay.” She brought me a Coke but never let us know what they found. My daughter ordered the cheese quesadillas. There was a black hair prominently displayed on the plate (photo attached). When we told the server, she had the manager stop by. The manager apologized and said she would take care of it and make things right. They had our server update our bill and gave us $1.64 off a $55.00 tab. Wow. Serve spoiled food with a side of hair and that’s what makes it right? I asked if that was correct and she said, yes, she took care of us. OK. Guess I will never be going back here. The food was mediocre at best and for two meals, two sodas and guacamole, almost $60.00? There are definitely much better options in the area. Extremely disappointed.
