I’ve tried almost every San Jose around Columbia and this is my go-to everytime.
I’ve been coming here for close to 10 years. Despite it being 2 blocks from my house, I was reluctant to try it out at first, because of judging it by its appearance. The parking lot is hard to navigate and the building is smaller than other locations.
I definitely regret not coming here sooner. They always have speedy service and staff are very friendly. The owner likes to make rounds checking on diners and is just a cool guy. The portions are large and fairly priced. And I’ve found the sweet tea, queso and chips taste way better than other San Jose’s. You may have to wait a while for a table at peak hours but even during a rush, the food comes out super quick.
Thanks for the consistently stellar service all these years!

I visited a year ago and forgot the address and name of the place. Just so happened to stumble upon it and am so glad!! Great food, service and the atmosphere is typical of a quick lunch or inexpensive dinner stop. The food is very fresh. I had the enchilada lunch plate. All three types were very good and enough to fill me up. Unlimited chips/pico and an amazing margarita topped it off. Not sure what the negative reviews were about, I’m picky and have not one complaint!! Give it a try!

The food was delicious, wait staff was very friendly and efficient! The house tequila is awesome. They have outdoor seating for when it’s pretty outside. The only thing I can think of is husband’s pork was not to his liking. Otherwise I reccomend highly!

Great customer service! The manager/owner went out of his way to greet me, and ensure me that my food would be ready soon(I placed a to go order) he even offered me a drink while I wait. Highly recommend. The customer service is top tier.

We arrived with a fairly large party and was able to be seated quickly. The waiter was patient and kind during the entire time we were there. Food was brought out quickly, correctly, nice and hot and tasted delicious. Drinks stayed refilled and the chips and salsa never went low. Atmosphere was clean, as well as
Unsure what all our party ordered but everything was delicious! The horchata was really good- perfect balance of cinnamon. I personally ordered a side of rice, beans and an a la carte steak burrito. It was very good and I will order again when I return. Overall, we had a very nice experience and would love to return. Highly recommend

I placed an order for take out. The customer service was nothing special. I greeted multiple employees upon entry who did not greet me back. Eventually I was able to pay for my food and I left, but shortly after beginning to eat, I noticed a bug in my salad… appetite immediately lost. The enchiladas also seemed to be made with little effort which was disappointing because I usually look forward to San Jose’s enchilada supreme, but not so much after this experience.

Food very good but upcharge for everything…$4 for a glass of tea and only received two small tortillas for steak fajitas asked for more , addt. upcharge. Asked for sour cream also addt upcharge…ended up being too pricey for the amt of food although it was our first time, not sure we will go back as it was a sticker shock. The upcharges were listed on the ticket not explained as we asked for them

Really like this San Jose in West Columbia tucked away on Dreher Rd, right off US1 @ Klapman Blvd. Nice outdoor seating with bisto-height tables. I headed inside and grabbed a seat at the bar. Had a menu, and my drink order was taken lickety-split. Went light today ordering Chori Queso app and Taquitos Mexicanos. Love the salad topped with sour cream, guacamole, diced tomatoes and freshly grated cheese. Very nice tequila selection and the cervesa was ice cold. Clean restrooms and onsite parking behind the restaurant.

It was a little over priced but I ordered a chalupa and have traveled to many of states, mostly the mid and mid west and this is the first Mexican resturant I have been to that makes a chalupa like a tostada??? It was a flat fried corn tortilla not the traditional fried bread, also my server asked what meat I would like and I said chicken but it came out with beans, I asked him about the chicken and he kind of talked down to me saying it’s not taco bell, do you want a side of chicken! I did say no thanks but everyting tasted the same with different sauces and we ordered 7 different items….It is my fault after reviewing the menu it states its a fried flat corn tortilla but who would expect that for a chalupa honestly? the chinmichanga was very small too, about the size of my palm! Would recommend El Jimador over here the portions are twice the size for the same price, and very friendly service! The servicer Lorenzo wasn’t terrible but wasn’t great either! I still left him $10 to prove a point……
