Been driving by San Jose’ on my way to get my haircut for ages, & have been meaning to stop in & check it out, today – I had the opportunity to do so, & share a holiday lunch with my neighbors who have dined there a number of times, and thought I would like it, they were correct!
We enjoyed a nice lunch on Tuesday afternoon, around 12:30pm, the restaurant wasn’t terribly crowded, but there were a number of folks enjoying their lunch at that time.
We were seated promptly, served some chips & salsa while we looked over the menu, & one we placed our order, were served in a reasonable time frame, the food was delicious – I enjoyed the “Mexican Steak”, while one of my neighbors enjoyed a burrito & the other a chicken dish.
The staff were friendly, & attentive, the food was prepared well, and all in all, I would say one receives a good value for their money.
I enjoyed dining at San Jose’ this afternoon, and look forward to returning in the not so distant future, and would recommend this establishment if you are a fan of mexican food.
The price is right, the portions just right, & the venue was clean & inviting.

We recently had a family dinner at San Jose to bid farewell to my brother before he left for the Navy. The restaurant was able to accommodate our large party of 27 with ease, and the service was commendable. The food was served hot and was absolutely delicious, leaving everyone in our group satisfied and happy with their choices. It was a truly great night out, and I highly recommend San Jose for anyone looking to enjoy a meal with a large group in a welcoming atmosphere.

I have been coming here for over 1. 1/2 years. The food is always good. The service is ALWAYS terrible. I never know who our waiter or waitress is. IF they come back to the table, it’s “everything good?” As they are walking by without even giving you a chance to respond. More often than not I am chasing my waiter down or having to ask someone else for help. A waiter has never given their name. I have waited for more than 20 minutes more than 3 times for someone to even come to our table to order so I have left. Mind you. The restaurant has never been BUSY. I was a waitress for 15 years. So I give grace. But it’s unfortunate how bad this service is.

Amazing, walked in for my called in order and waited a few minutes for it, got called up to the desk.
The guy noticed the haircut I got just 12 minutes ago and we had a good chat, unfortunately was down a dollar and was going to go back to my car to get another but the guy gracefully let me take my food and be on my way.
Not encouraging to mooch off the people who work there, but this was incredible service and I enjoyed the little moments I had inside.
10/10, the Tornado Burrito is the damn bomb.

We came in pretty late and the restaurant was crowded busy.. but they served the food so fast, and waiter was very friendly recommending the dishes. Shrimp fajita is my new favorite which I’ll keep coming for.

I recently ate at San Jose Mexican Restaurant in Columbia and it was excellent! The ambience felt authentic, like an old-time Mexican restaurant, and the service was friendly and attentive. The food was definitely the highlight—we ordered the Fajitas Jalisco for two and they were absolutely delicious. And I can’t forget the margarita—it was BIG and so good! Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for great Mexican food in Columbia.
Oh and the had SOL!! Which is rarely ever in Mexican restaurants

Didn’t promise too much. Food was excellent. If anyone wants to rate it lower, please base it on more then one visit and let the waiter know what you didn’t like so they can improve. Nothing was wrong with our food. It was delicious. Picked up my food. They are extremely nice!
